“Oh there will be no endeavours on our front. Neither of us is a goddess.” Ozen waved aside the thought. “I will pass on your greetings to Lyza. She’ll be happy to know a friend of foreign lands is thinking of her.”

“I just meant endeavors in general, not specifically of the pregnancy kind-” Yae’s smile returns when Ozen mentions Lyza. “I’m glad that it could make her happy. We could go on a double date or something, that might be fun.”

“I suppose anything would be safer outside the Abyss.” Ozen laughed a little, the sound shallow and akin to coughs. “I wish you well on your endeavours.” Her eyes glazed as memories of a dark, damp cave surfaced in her mind.

“Quite literally anything, yes.” The Abyss sounded awful. She was almost glad she couldn’t properly visit it. “And I wish you well on yours, Ozen. Tell Lyza I said hi! And that she should visit.”

“You…can make a woman round…? Why would you want to do that? Growing round only leads to imminent death. You should know this.”

“I’m a goddess. Within the confines of Sakurashin Town, I can essentially do whatever I please.” She states it matter-of-factly. She can only wonder if Ozen has finally accepted that fact. “With modern medicine, the chances of a healthy pregnancy being fatal are slim to none. And with my influence, that chance becomes nil.”

Noting the expression, Ozen chuckled under her breath. “At least you two won’t be in any danger of growing round. If the marriage happens, let me know how it goes.”

“I mean... I could definitely make that happen, but I’m not sure what a demigod would actually turn out like...” Now she’s preoccupied thinking about the possibility of children. It’s a lot to consider all at once! “I could invite you to the wedding, of course... the whole town will be there, so what’s two more?”

“Is that something you will consider? Marriage?”

“Oh, well...” She’s pressing her fingers together, now. How quickly her mood shifts. “If that’s what she wants... right now I’m just really enjoying our time together...” Plus, she’s sure she would be incredibly embarrassed wearing a wedding dress. Now that she’s imagining it, it’s going to be hard to stop.

“We’re dating, we haven’t married. There’s no reason for us to elope anyhow.”

Ozen chuckled, a glint of humour in her eyes.

“I can’t claim to know anything of you. I’ve just had a few brats to mentor in my life. That’s all.”

Yae keeps her persistent smile up... but it seems as genuine as always.

“I find keeping a youthful demeanor makes me more likable.”
