           it’s been a while -- 

    Precisely, it’s been eight months since I started Melia’s blog; and they’ve been a fun eight months. I’ve gained so much from knowing you guys, from love to tears and I’ve gained this sense of self worth that I didn’t have back in May; and, yeah I’ve lost a little too, but that’s not always a bad thing. You’re all my happy day, and I love you all so much 

This isn’t a bias list, but rather a list of people who’ve greatly impacted my time here. If you aren’t here, don’t sweat it. I can’t put all three hundred people who’ve made my life wonderful.

    Truly, Nanna had wondered about the build of this city. Alcamoth was indeed nothing like she had ever seen before; a fact she could tell even by the mere short time she had spent within the city’s streets. The lady mage could only imagine how one could grow accustomed to its many twists and turns.

    “Very well, Miss Melia. Some help would indeed be appreciated.”

█ ♛ █     Quietly, Melia hooks her hands together, like a prayer that there would be no lashing out, no horribleness lashing at her throat. Alcamoth had a way of squeezing out the life of anyone, but she supposes, if this woman wanted to know her way around, Melia would be the only one daring to help ( besides, no one would look twice at a Half Homs if she kept her head down, maybe the other would learn to do the same. ) 

                  “Where exactly would you like to go, ma’am?”

                    Fingers twined with the light blades of grass- cold                     and refreshing against what was once again her skin.                     Never in her life as a Homs had she visited the area                     known as Eryth Sea, the home of the High Entia and so                     many others. It was just as beautiful as she recalled from                     her days in their journey past. Yet there was something                     particularly special about making the journey in this state.                     She had done so at her hostess’ insistence ( although                     little insisting was actually needed ) and so now turned                     to the Empress.

                    “I have to admit, Melia, I’m a little jealous. Living in                     Eryth Sea means you have the best view from anywhere!                     Thank you for inviting me up here to share it with you.”

                     Unspoken sentiment hid behind the words- thank you                      for welcoming me back, for giving me some simple                      pleasure, for making sure I’m okay. But Fiora was not                      one to drop such sentiment in so blunt a way, and so she                      settled on the appropriate gratitude.

█ ♛ █                     There is something beautiful about this place, she thinks;                    watching Fiora seem to soak the sea for the very first time,                    it is truly peaceful. Not the kind of quietness that settled in                    Alcamoth’s corpse still streets, but the breathing of everything                    in sync. Fiora’s words make her chuckle, though; jealous, of                    living in a city abandoned by time and gods, Melia could only                     imagine why. Yes, the lights from Eryth were gorgeous, but                    certainly better up close, in the grasses of the floating isles                    rather than from her office window. But, she smiles, away                    from her usual melancholy, if but for a moment. 

                  “There is no need to thank me, Fiora; you are welcome up                    here anytime you so wish. It is not like I do not have the                     space, Fiora. I should thank you, for taking the time.” 

                   There was nothing else for Melia to feel, save gratitude and                    a tad bit of shame; she was selfish, calling Fiora all the way                    to Alcamoth. Oh, of course she wanted to make sure, after                    all that had happened, but there was a layer underneath that,                    where she was just desperate for human contact.

You have such a compelling interpretation of a character whose growth mostly comes through being broken- yet you give her so many opportunities to pick herself back up. You write her as strongly and competently as she deserves. And you really show the development in her characterization! Plus you just. Man. You always make me smile and giggle when we talk.
