Not sure if anyone cares, BUT a Hercules sequel AU below- this is only a rough draft so please bear with me on this one.
I do welcome any ideas and suggestions for this AU. And if you happen to be an artist, you can even drop something inspired in this!
* Four months after Hercules saved Mount Olympus and Greece from the titans, Hades is saved and taken out from the River Styx by someone unknown, who offers a deal to him in exchange of him receiving his payback and revenge against Zeus. He accepts the deal with this “unknown” person.
* A month after, the death of Enyo is discovered. Many suspects, from gods to monsters, are being pinpointed, as the cause of death was unknown. Whoever killed this goddess not only killed her in cold blood, but also made sure to get rid of any ounce of evidence of their crime. One deity killing another deity is considered high treason. At the same time this is happening, temples of several gods are being taken down by a group of mortals who claim to rebel against the gods.
* Hercules is tasked to investigate more about this resistance group. For that, because there are many reports coming from almost every city in Greece of temples being destroyed or altered, he decides to get in contact with several old friends, allies, and former enemies. Among them are these people: Cassandra, Icarus, Adonis, Tempest, Helen, Electra, Circe, Triton, Zagreus, Fear, and Terror. What most of them gather about this Resistance group: most of them possess advanced weapons and have one equal mindset: all gods should no longer rule them and they should no longer seek the guidance from said gods. One thing that shocked Hercules, however: their leader, whose identity remained anonymous, is calling for the death and execution of Zeus himself. That detail itself was concerning. The group continued their investigation, spreading through almost every city. They found out everything about the group, except for three things: the actual motive as to why this group was created by the unknown leader, whoever was behind Enyo’s death, and the identity of the leader themselves. Those three details were not clear.
* After months of coming up with nothing, Hercules has no choice but to seek help from the gods. He spoke to Fear and Terror to ask for their dad for help, while he spoke with Athena. When he spoke with her, however, she didn’t leave much details. All she left to him was a series of scrolls, and she told him firmly that there would be a speech being taken place by both Kings of Sparta and Athens in three days to their respective cities. She instructed him that he is to read all the scrolls in private while the speeches take place. He is not allowed to show or open the scrolls before them, nor is he allowed to give those scrolls to absolutely anyone. She made him swear this by the River Styx as well. She even made him not to tell a soul about their conversation at all.
* Three days later: the speeches in Athens and Sparta. Every Athenian and every Spartan were in attendance for these speeches. While these speeches happened, Hercules read the scrolls by himself as he was told. What he discovered would change everything. The speeches also revealed three things: the truth behind Athena’s birth, the murder of Enyo, and the identity of the leader of the Resistance. Enyo’s killer was Athena, and the leader of the Resistance was Athena herself. But one thing that the speeches did NOT reveal was something that Hercules read by himself: the truth behind Enyo’s death and the reason why she was killed. The speeches from both kings consisted in exposing Zeus’ each and every single crime as well as exposing Athena as the mastermind behind Enyo’s death and the Resistance. Both cities suddenly declared war on Zeus during these speeches, as well. This moment would label Athena as “the true traitor of Olympus.” A commotion occurred between Athena and Zeus after these speeches concluded and she teleported away from Olympus immediately, marking her rebellion against her father and justice for those affected by Zeus’ doings.
* Greece soon became a land of civil war. Once again, Athens and Sparta became allies to one another while every other city were against them. More mortals and even half mortals soon joined the Resistance. It was rumored that some sea nymphs even took part in aiding the Resistance.
* Throughout the civil war, both political parties in both cities had placed their feuds on hold for an unknown amount of time. It was even rumored that someone within Athens was assisting the Resistance with supplies, while Sparta assisted mostly with weaponry. At one point, there was even a rumored conversation between the king of Sparta and Ares himself, who confronted him about his city-state aiding the Resistance, though the king’s only response was this, “As much as I owe all respect to you, I was firmly instructed that if you were to question me, then you should question the leader of the Resistance herself.” This is what led Ares to track down the Resistance himself and find Athena.
* The location of the Resistance, or as its members would call it “Safe Haven,” was somewhere deep in the wilderness within one of the islands situated somewhere in the Thracian Sea. It was formerly an abandoned temple, which soon expanded into a large fortress redesigned by members of the Resistance. However, inside this fortress, not only was it shown as a military base, but it was shown mostly as a place for those in need of a home. A place for single mortals, half-mortals, groups, pairings, families, and even soldiers from either Athens or Sparta who choose to join a cause whose sole purpose is to gain dependency and no longer rely on gods for guidance, as well as getting Zeus to give up the throne. After several days, Ares was able to track down the Resistance base until he was confronted by four members of the Resistance, who brought him to Athena. And so, the two “dueling deities” met again months after Athena was declared as a traitor to Olympus.
