I think true love is when two people make each other love themselves more.
I used to be interested in fighting but now I’m more interested in protecting, preserving, nurturing, healing, mending, and tending. There will always be moments of conflict and defense. The thorns protect the rose… but in the movements in between… my energy is for growing something real and fortified through love, care, and song. It is exhausting and unsustainable to fight all the time. It’s like Toni Morrison said, “You have to have the love and you have to have the magic. That’s also life.”
I saw someone post recently they love experiences that remind them that their skin is an organ and have been thinking about the Receiving and Emitting… the porous barrier, a highly sensitive honing tool or instrument. Not even sure how to say it but I love sitting on a rock in the sun I love walking through ancient minerals of the salt flats and letting them enter my feet I love taking in the memory of the plants through my hands. Everything is in a process of transmitting and transmuting. I feel so open it scares me sometimes…. But everything is always a risk. It is risk to receive. It is a risk to love—and what a gift.
God just wants us to dance
