God just wants us to dance
I’ve noticed that evil people love to misuse the idea of us living in an “illusion” (e.g., misogynists and "escaping the matrix"; a trillionaire stating that we "live in a simulation"; tech companies that have monopolized our time and desires putting forth spaces like the "metaverse").
It's not a coincidence when individuals or groups with an interest in demoralizing us appropriate spiritual language to paint the human experience as being fake. This framing is part of a larger attempt to dim our reality so that it can be more easily replaced with their own. The irony is that when the mystics who they adopt this language from state that “life is an illusion”, it’s emphasizing the outer-world's ability to influence our inner identity, attention, and perception. This understanding should draw us deeper into Love and the human experience, not further into isolation and darkness (like malicious people suggest), because embracing life is how we become grounded in our own truth.
Predestination is a beautiful concept through the lens of Love. Love awakens us to the infinite potentiality of destiny—that something better may be possible. And unlike simulations, destiny holds enough depth for imagination, faith, and the dream because it is also designed to leave space for uncertainty. The centering of our hearts is where experiences of uncertainty and darkness become portals for “openness”.
"Simulation" is cyclic, dark, narrow, defeated, and imposed on us by others....Destiny is expansion into ourselves!
“God blesses a surrendered heart with visions of peace.”
When your being is rooted in Love, its mere presence is a gift to the earth. Before a word has even been uttered, your existence will be experienced as a light by those around you.
Because it makes a way for all of us.
We must call each other back to ourselves. Through poetry, through sincerity, through sharing, through attention. Everyday language has the tendency to trivialize our existence and numb us to what is possible.
The other day I stayed up late with my friend who is much older than me, in her seventies. She's been with her current husband for about three years, but they were friends before they ever got together for 40 years. We were talking about new chapters in each of our lives and she said in the same exact way a teenager might say something like, 'I hope I fall in love one day' or 'I hope I learn to drive', "I hope I get at least ten more years with him before either one of us goes" She said it so sweetly and plainly I didn't think much of it at the time, but I was just stretching outside, it crossed my mind and I burst into tears. Life is so fleeting and it's such a privilege to know and love other people.
people yelling about a remedy, or path, or their god accepting everyone, never convinced me that a light could be True enough to endure all of this. what did, were humans that existed as conduits for divine Love.
“Connect your hearts to the Source of eternal power. Do not think you are on your own. Let us move away from these dependencies on this transient world that always betrays.
O droplets, join the Ocean!”
— Imam Khomeini (r)
love is older than humanity. more ancient than the desert.
