It's very easy to select the text of a fic and copy-paste it on Ao3, right?

Well, we can stop people (and AI) from doing this by adding a skin to our fics!

I just did it with all my fics and it works.

How to do it, step by step⬇️

1) Log in. Click 'Skins' in the menu, at the left. Then click 'My Work Skins' and after doing this, click 'Create Work Skins' at the top right.

2) Write a title for your skin (anything you want, it doesn't matter). Then in the large text box, write this:

#workskin * {

user-select: none !important;

-webkit-user-select: none;

-moz-user-select: none;

-ms-user-select: none;

}

This is what you should see:

3) Click 'Submit'. Your skin has been created, and now you have to add it to all your works.

4) Click 'Works'. Then click 'Edit Works' at the top right.

5) Click 'All' to select all your works. Scroll down and click 'Edit'.

6) Scroll down until you see 'Select Work Skin' and select the one you just created.

7) Click 'Update All Works'.

Now, people can't select the text of your fics and copy it😊

PS: I also recommend changing the visibility of your fics to 'Only Show to Registered Users'. You'll lose your anon readers, but it will protect your works a bit more against AI scrappers

Formatting Update

From this point forward, you won't be able to copy paste any text from my fics.

This is to prevent AI scrapers and fic stealers from doing their thing. It's better to be safe now than sorry later.

If you'd like to access any text (for reasons such as bookbinding, saving down, ect.) you're still welcome to. Leave an ask or DM here, I'll send it over as soon as I can. Don't try to do this through Ao3 comments, there won't be any text of mine available on the site anymore.

Heads up- New Pseud

I've created a pseud (name still under decision) to seperate all my SBG works from other fandoms/ styles. This should make searching my profile much easier as I update, and allow me the freedom to post more works without fear of audiences accidentally colliding. Due to their nature, I won't post select works on Tumblr, but they'll still have public viewing from my profile like always.

Scheduling Update

So.. You know all those unfinished fics currently posted? Unfortunately I won't be updating them any time soon.

On and off for the past year i've been all over SBG, it's time for a break lol.

Don't expect updates this month, but they'll most likely be completed in the future :) every fic at least has planning, and some part of them written.

In the meantime, if you'd like to read current WIPs, DM me over here and I'll send the planning to you, to satisfy your curiosity. For some, they're entirely written already, I'm just not happy enough to end/post them.

An update on the fics..

..Let's start this off by apologising for my absence. Now that's done, I claim that the Author's Curse is in fact very real.

I can't even begin to explain what happened here, it'll probably be in the next chapter notes of AC7DP. Yes, it has an acronym now.

I haven't forgotten about anything I'm currently supposed to be writing, don't worry. Nothing's been abandoned. Despite the lack of SBG content, I have do have anon and unpublished fics for other fandoms if anyone's interested.

It's safe to say there's no confirmed date for the next chapter anyways. Stay well until then <3
