My favorite moments and bits from Once Upon a Starlight episode 11, the finale (major spoilers ahead)

Frost telling Blarbie to sell his suit if things go wrong😭
“Alright you can have the throat-slitter- don’t go swinging this around alright?”
Frost teaching Meela how to shield herself
“She’d be a fool not to be expecting us and one thing she ain’t is a fool.”
Jenko just laying at the entrance dying a horrible body-horror death. It reminds me of John Carpenter’s The Thing. Particularly the autopsy scene after they visit the Norwegian base.
“Kremy, Meela has experienced worse than this as did I at the same age.”
Meela changing her mind and burying into herself Frost, him immediately covering her ears.
“Oh, they’re real, Gricko, and they live above us.”

“Maybe one day when we retire and this is all long behind us we could open up a small shop. King Coal’s 2! Or like Mach 2, like those comic books and stuff.”

Because retirement together is inevitable without question.
“If she turns you into something heavy metal we’ll let it lie.”
“Yeah, that’s fair, that’s fair.”

Meela rushing over and hugging Kremy.
“You need no forgiveness, you did not know what she was doing.”
“Not only that, but we’ve just learned that nothing that happened to me was even a part of your world. This was…this was all Dr. Zahn. Everything that happened to Xenia and I is…sure she picked it up and carried on this strange legacy but that was before your time.”
Meela putting her hand on Kremy’s cheek.
“You are not who you were in the past. You are who you are now. And who I know, is someone good, someone kind.”
“You’re ambitious and capable, but your ambitions are not like Evrima’s. Not even a little. Not even then.”
“You would never hurt me…I know this.”
And Frost rushing in to also hug him 🥹🥹🥹🥹 Kremy being brought to tears by it all…I hope everyone comes out okay.
“Alright..we can move on now I’m gonna ruin my makeup.🥹”

“Guys look, I look just like Wyoming Smith!🤠”

Why do I feel like the answer to that question is horrible.

Frost’s unleashing of Psionic energy, the room arching with lighting and everyone’s hair frizzing, I imagine Kremy’s snake tendrils just curl in on themselves like the sensitive fern (that’s literally what the plant is called)

Torbek is the bestest, healing Frost to full and catching him before he hits to the ground

Nikkie took the miss on creating a molnaya-thug-king-beast from episode 2 personally and said “watch this” with Evrima

“Evrima if there’s any of you left in there; I told you this wasn’t going to end the way you think it was, and I reckon I was right.”

“With all her powers and with Hooty by her side she fought and she fought. And then she fell. ‘Cause sometimes, the monsters win, ey?”
“But then, something beautiful happened, ey?”
“As she fell, she turned into starlight.”
“Twinkling across the night…”
“And so now, she gets to dance among the stars every night. Twinkling down on everybody. And that’s the real beauty ain’t it?”
“She protects Meela every night when she sleeps. Meela and Gricko and Frost…”
“And Torbek..and Gideon..and Kremy…”
“And Hooty and all your spooky skitterers. And all the rest.”
“That’s right. Starlight.”
“Starlight. Just like home…”

Lost love, but not forgotten. She knows he’s been up all night and he knows she’s just getting up for the day.

“All those years ago, sitting on that barstool next to each other, could I imagine us here?”

“The last couple weeks I think what it was I felt the lightning. And I was waiting for the thunder. Fifteen years I waited on the thunder. And it’s part of who I am. It affected me in ways you had to deal with and everybody had to deal with but…I think finally I heard the sound of that thunder. The thunder’s passed. Do you feel that too, Gid?”
“Yeah I do. You know I..I don’t know lightning, thunder, energy, rhapsody singing you your own song, trying to run away from the past or whatever it was but the second we turned to face it, turned to face it together, look what happened.“
It’s amazing how they say “I love you and I’ll always be here for you.” Without saying it.
“I mean all that stuff you’ve been carrying? You finally get to put it down. No running anymore.”
“Yeah…….Gideon Nathaniel Coal? Would you kindly give me a smooch?”
Gideon laughing softly, running his hands up Kremy’s sides, outstretching his arms so he can spin Kremy around. Wrapping him in his arms.
“Kremy Etienne Lecroux, I thought you’d never ask.”
“Usually I don’t have to ask, but it felt right in the moment, Gid.”
So, full Kremy name reveal, first real and true kiss for Coalecroux, and to top it off it is cavity-inducingly sweet and romantic. We truly live in a post-huckleberry world.
“Ain’t it funny how the night moves…I have a good feeling about this.”
A million fanfic titles were born this day.
What a finale..what a campaign. Props to the players and wonderful gm as always. Phenomenal from start to finish!!!
I’m sticking by my episode title prediction being The Starlight for the finale!! I’m so glad they got their happy ending.
