I've been struggling to write something – anything – for the last two weeks. I know what my problem is. That's the last part of season 3.
First. I refuse to acknowledge that Kwami Buster and Chat Blanc ever happened. Because it shuts down any opportunity for a reveal fic without it being out of canon. It would be better if those two balls of sunshine just stayed as oblivious as they have been. Second. I don't like Lila salt. Don't get me wrong – she really does irritate me and I even used her twice for my one-shots, but when I searched Ao3 for fics with pairing Adrien/Marinette within the last year, more than half of them were Lila centered. What I would give to read some brand old marichat with just two of them, mutual pining, teenage problems and all... Third. The Felix episode totally ruined any chance to write FELINETTE, which I love. Because each time I try to fabricate some nice plot for that, it all breaks down because Felix is now canon, Adrien's twin cousin, lives in London and is a reeeeeally unpleasant guy. And the last one. The very basis for most of marichat fics was the concept that if Marinette would move on from liking Adrien, she would notice Chat Noir, just like Adrien would switch to Marinette. It works for any side of love square, btw. It was the basis for them falling in love with each other without revealing themselves. But if they move on to other people, then what was the point of the love square to begin with??? It's just a boy loving a girl and another girl loving another boy, if you get me here. It's nothing special if they can easily move on. The idea of being made for each other vanishes on the spot. Again, don't get me wrong: I think that Lucanette is super cute, but the very concept of the Love Square is unclear if that pairing becomes canon. What was it for? Solely for the Chat Blanc episode? Doesn't make sense to me. I get that canon comes first and I know that canon is Thomas Astruc. But in my opinion season 3 suffocates fanwriting. (Sorry for my English, I'm not watching my words at this point) And if I get back to writing again, I'll have to just ignore those series, for it doesn't leave space for creativity. Because if Adrien and Marinette figure out each other, they will have to stop being superheroes (again, I have no idea how it's going to work with the fact that Marinette is the guardian now). Because now they are dating other people. Good people, who you don't just break up with. And the chance of them switching to each other on the other side of the mask decreased multiple times. Soo, by the end of season three I have no idea what to write about anymore. Well, except Lila salt and multiple various AUs, including ones where our oblivious superheroes can just figure out each other's identities and be happy afterwards (I Can't Get Why It Has To Be An AU!!!). Because we now know all too well, that if this happens, there just will be Bunnix to fix that. I'll stop my ranting now. Thank you for your attention. I'm just... So pissed off. I finally have time to write, but I have nothing to write about.
