Karyn Parsons’ Mission To Share The Untold Stories Of Black History Heroes
Jessica Dickerson
Hilary Banks from "The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air" may not have been known as a fierce advocate for education. But the actress who played her sure is.
Last year, Karyn Parsons — actress, mother, author and amateur historian — founded Sweet Blackberry, a nonprofit devoted to teaching kids about some of the lesser-known figures of black history. The organization publishes books and videos on people like Henry “Box” Brown and Garrett Morgan, and facilitates school visits and children’s workshops centered around promoting “creativity, literacy skills and social responsibility.”

New Show "Empire" Starring Taraji P. Henson & Terrance Howard to Premier in January
How did I miss this?! I guess they said "Hustle & Flow" did so good, why not take it to TV. Not saying that it's a spin off from the movie, because Terrance doesn't look like a recently released from prison, drug dealing, pimp. And Taraji is surely as flawless as ever. Read more on the series below:
Welcome to EMPIRE, a sexy and powerful new drama about the head of a music empire (Terrence Howard) whose three sons and ex-wife all battle for his throne. Set to an original soundtrack written and produced by hip-hop hitmaker Timbaland.
Possible Sneak-Peek of New "Yeezi" Shoe No copyright intended. This story was spotted on Complex SNEAKERS via Twitter: Take it from us: if you want to keep something under wraps, don't bring it on a plane and hold it up where someone can snap a photo. Especially if you're Kanye West. Joining the mile-high club is, what has been confirmed by anonymous sources who have held these shoes in their hands at adidas HQ, as the Kanye West x adidas "Yeezi." An unveiling will take place in the near future, but this is the best, and only, look thus far. What we can see is a tan upper, that looks like nubuck, mid with a zip up the side, with a loop, fabric lacing system. A ribbed single unit sole reaches from end to end. Like all Yeezys/Yeezis we've seen, there's a strap across the laces. These are certainly a step in a new direction for the rapper/collaborator. The shape and details are much more in the fashionable arena of his early work, and leaving behind the sports influence. Stay tuned to as more details begin to surface as the alleged November Yeezi release draws closer.

K. Michelle Releases First Edit of New Video "Love 'Em All"
Yesterday after #LHHLA (the worst in the series), K. Michelle premiered her new TV show "My Life", produced by none other than Mona Scott Young. The show was just like her career: classless and barely making it. Yet, it still managed to be "entertaining" with all of its Mona Mi voodoo. In the first episode, we meet all of K's close "friends" and are coming in at the beginning of her just moving into her home in New Jersey. We also met Traci, and in the words of K. Michelle, "we'll come back to that later".
Now I'm no fan of K. Michelle's, so imagine my surprise when I saw that she was going to also be premiering the video to her new single "Love 'Em All". Although not a fan, I have loosely followed her career...or attempt at one. So getting an opportunity to witness the WORLD PREMIER of her new video, how could I not? Right? Well, I wish I hadn't.
The video begins with a sad attempt at a sexy chair dance. Unfortunately, the chair never had a chance. Between K. Michelle's massive ass and the poor editing of the wooden chair shattering BEFORE it hit the wall, the chair was DOA. Throw in the mediocre background dancers who were trying to dougie, or nae nae, or have a seizure the entire video, you get a video that receives 230,000 views in 24 hours.
But I can't blame K. Michelle for the poorly edited video. I must blame Tracie. Last night we learned that Tracie used K. Michelle's credit card, without her knowledge, to purchase "bags". I can only assume that the cost of the bags equated to the entire video budget for producing the video. Shame on you Tracie! Running off K. Michelle's music career in your stolen hand bags!
But don't take my word for it. Check it out for yourself.

While the rest of us were merely existing on this earth at sluggish, pollution-spewing speeds, Beyoncé found time in between her concert tour, VMA award acceptance feat, and residency as the planet’s goddess in chief to create more art. And because this is Beyoncé we’re talking about, and a publication that touts itself as a “magazine of style and inspiration,” the photos aren’t accompanied by a boring old celebrity profile. But by a free-form poem comprising statements made by Beyoncé that were “remixed by” poet and Pulitzer Prize finalist Forrest Gander. Called “Bey the Light,” the poem touches on everything from Bey’s daughter, Blue Ivy, to her own persona Sasha Fierce. CC: vanityfair.com And of course they mentioned that she didn't mention her husband 😒
