Hello Blobby! Downloaded the MSA fan game you have been making and updating, and it's super cool that you decided to make a game around Mystery skulls and the game itself is really fun! Was looking if you had a FAQ, but was wondering if you would be cool if someone wanted to record and do a lets play of this? All links would be in description of course to game to help promote.

Big update! (Some of the adjustments are based on @arthur-tristan-kingsmen‘s review and his and @kirbychan234‘s feedback! )

List of changes under the cut!

EDIT: Fixed some more things so updated the link to a new version again!! Most of the old links are down at this point

Both Arthur and Mystery have gained an ability to make them more important in combat even with the full team present

Arthur’s “Bait” ability has a different effect now (gives the party a DEF buff)

Characters no longer die, they fall unconscious and are returned to 1HP after a battle, so you won’t get a Game Over for losing one party member in battle

You now go Game Over if all members in the party are unconscious

Everyone has gained an ability that can knock an ally out of Sleep and Confusion

Some enemies use Confusion less often, specifically in the third Level

The last two skills Arthur learns last make more damage

The last skill Vivi learns was nerfed slightly

A cow has been added

The name of Lew’s class has been changed to make it seem less impersonal

The hint you can get when using the cellphone in the attic is now a little more straightforward

A few more easter eggs have been added but not many

Starting in Level 5 you’ll have the option of changing which character represents the team on the map with their sprite (You’ll receive a message once it’s been enabled)

Arthur’s cellphone has been altered a little

Bugs, mainly about arrow jumping but also about other things, have been fixed

Hi, so with the update does that mean I have to start the game over?

Hey, I’m gonna publish this one in case anyone else has the same question :)

You don’t necessarily have to start over your game. 

If you go into the folder of the game, in the folder with the .exe of the game itself you should find files that look like these: 

These are your save files. The number behind “Save” is the same as the one displayed to you in the save menu. So “Save03.rvdata2″ would also be File 3 in the Save Menu. 

Now if you copy a save file from an old version and put it into the directory of a new version of the game, also in the folder with the .exe, it could and has worked as a save file within the new game, since all the indexes, variables, etc. are assigned the same way. Make sure that you don’t change the name of the save file or have two files with the same number, I’m not sure what happens then but I don’t think it’ll work properly.

There’s still a chance of this not working right but you can at least give it a shot. Should it fail you can always remove the file from the directory. (For this make sure that you copy and don’t cut out your old save files).

If you’ve already encountered a bug and are stuck in a dead lock this is different, though, because certain variables have already been assigned buggy values or other things like that. Should that be the case contact me with your specific issue and I’ll try to put a fail save event into a new version which can get your game back on track.

There’s another gamebreaking bug in Level 5 (Details under the read more to avoid Spoilers!). I’m fixing it as we speak to release a new version later on today. You should be able to import your save files if you haven’t triggered the bug, yet. If you have, I’m contemplating putting in a fail save for those who have so they can import their saves, as well. 

As usual, save lots and preferably make multiple save files. I apologize for the trouble!

When you’re in Cadence in the graveyard and found the right grave to push the headstone away of, you’re met with the choice of going in or staying on the surface, If you choose “Yes”, a.k.a. you still have stuff to do on the surface and leave the graveyard you won’t be able to go down afterwards.  If you choose “Yes” but remain in the graveyard, you’ll be fine.
