My brother and I went to a convenience store to buy some snacks. He wanted to get a hot dog from the hot dog roller machine, but he couldn't open the door with the handle. After a while, I went over to help him open the handle, thinking about how I'll show off to him about how I can open a hard-to-open door handle. But when I pulled on the handle, I struggled to open the little door as well. Even when I tugged and pulled at it towards me in different directions, no matter how hard I pulled, it didn't open. Suddenly losing my motivation to showcase my competence, I eventually left my brother to deal with his problem by himself. It's not like I wanted a hot dog anyway. Though when I walked away to grab a drink, I noticed the two staff members at the cashier started laughing.
I didn't know why they were laughing, but I could make a good guess. They weren't holding a phone where they could've seen something on it, we were the only ones in the store, and we just did something funny right in front of them. It wouldn't be a stretch to say that they were probably laughing at my brother and me. If it were the case, I wouldn't even be mad at them. It was a silly moment. I even laughed internally after noticing them myself. After a few moments of laughter, one of them then approached my brother to help get a hot dog from the machine. I was curious about the proper and intended way to use the handle, so I peeked at my brother from the drink fridge. The staff member then opened the handle by pulling upwards, then pulling it towards themselves. I remember being so shocked when I saw that handle move. From the design, it wasn't obvious at all that you had to lift it up first, at least to me. After that, my brother and I paid for the stuff we got and went back home.
