The Report on the Investigation into Russian Interference...

The Report on the Investigation into Russian Interference in the 2016 election has been released to the public. Though it does contain redactions that were promised in the time leading up to the release by Attorney General William Barr.

Despite these redactions, large sections of the report outline multiple actions that could lead Congress to articles of impeachment against the President.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller states that his office would be unable to charge a sitting President but explicit laid out that the same restrictions are not placed on Congress, writing: "The conclusion that Congress may apply the obstruction laws to the President’s corrupt exercise of the powers of office accords with our constitutional system of checks and balances and the principle that no person is above the law.”

Texas Bill Could Sentence Women To Death For Abortion

Texas lawmakers are considering a bill that would charge women who get an abortion in the state with homicide, a crime punishable by death.

The bill, authored by state Rep. Tony Tinderholt, a Republican from Arlington, would instruct the attorney general to charge both women and the performing physician with homicide for having gone through with the procedure.

“Right now, it’s real easy. Right now, they don’t make it important to be personally responsible because they know that they have a backup of ‘oh, I can just go get an abortion,’” Tinderholt told

The Observer in 2017 when he filed similar legislation. “Now, we both know that consenting adults don’t always think smartly sometimes. But consenting adults need to also consider the repercussions of the sexual relationship that they’re gonna have, which is a child.”

Some of his fellow Texas representatives see the irony in his action of sentencing those to death that he feels took a life.

South Carolina Senator Apologizes For Commentary Around Death Of 10-Year-Old Raniya Wright

As a South Carolina community continues to mourn a 10-year-old girl who died following a reported scuffle with another girl, a state senator has apologized for her commentary surrounding the death of Raniya Wright.

Parents of the late Forest Hills Elementary School student are still searching for answers about what happened to their daughter on March 25. They were livid last week when South Carolina State Senator Margie Bright Matthews made alarming comments concerning the girl’s death. The statements were perceived as an attempt to defend local school officials and a substitute teacher who initially broke up the fight.

Police and school district officials have all repeatedly refused to provide much information to the grieving parents or the public, telling reporters that an autopsy and police investigation would take about two weeks to finish. But that did not stop Sen. Matthews from getting on a State Senate podium on April 2 and making a series of claims that Raniya’s parents quickly disputed.

Sen. Matthews attempted to dismiss claims from the girl’s parents that Raniya had frequently complained of bullying at school.

“I think it’s a case of a 10-year-old acting like a 10-year-old,” Matthews told the crowd, according to The Post and Courier. “I’ve heard a lot of people say, ‘Oh, they were kicking her. They ganged her.’ None of that. That’s so far from the truth — not even the banging of (her) head. The head was not even an issue.”

Documents obtained by Property of the People (POTP), a self-described nonprofit specialist organization, allegedly show law enforcement officials linked the Ferguson, MO. and Baltimore, MD. #BlackLivesMatter protests to an interest in joining ISIS.

The Intercept released the report Monday, saying POTP had shared the documents with them. Though there have been multiple accounts of emails and documents that have proven law enforcement monitor(ed) Black Lives Matter protestors, such a link to ISIS has never publicly been seen. One possible example was in 2017 when Al Jeezara reported leaked emails, dated July 8, 2016, termed one protestor as a "black supremacist extremist."

A man captured on video repeatedly kicking an elderly woman on a New York subway has been apprehended by police.

The suspect, identified as 36-year-old Yonkers resident Marc Gomez, was arrested Saturday, reports The New York Times.

Video from the March 10 assault showed Gomez kicking the homeless 78-year-old woman in the abdomen several times and in the face. Onlookers took out their cellphones to record the incident.

Following the landfall of a cyclone in Mozambique, officials are fearful that the death toll may rise to over a thousand.

The BBC reports Cyclone Idai landed at 177 mph near the city of Beira on Thursday before continuing toward neighboring countries Malawi and Zimbabwe.

Idai brought torrential floods and extreme winds that affected all devastated areas for nearly four days straight, only recently subsiding. People have found refuge in trees, shelters, schools and among neighbors.

A large dam in Beira was breached on Sunday. Water from the breach blocked the last open road into the city. Currently, the only way in or out of the area is by air, making rescue and recovery efforts incredibly difficult. First responders trapped inside said they fear that the areas outside of the city may be even more devastated than the city itself.

New York City-based salon Sharon Dorram Color at Sally Hershberger is currently under investigation by the city for allegedly discriminating against Black employees with Black hairstyles.  

A New York Times report revealed damning accounts from former salon employees dating back to 2015 about the business's treatment of natural hair. This report comes a few days after NYC announced hair-based discrimination is banned citywide. The salon allegedly told the former employees that Afros and box-braided hairstyles were not reflective of the business's upscale image.
