Vampire Academy Fanfic part two (9)
“Come on, Andre, we need to get to your mother before she murders us both.” I said to him with a smirk. I didn’t have to look down to him anymore. He got tall. Real Tall. Everyone is taller than me. Great.
“Oh come on Rosie, she won’t kill us, I’m her son and You are her trusted guardian and pretty much sister, we are two of the most important people of her life. Besides she can’t resist my beautiful eyes.” He looked down staring at me with those crystal blue eyes, his gold hair all messy and untidy. He had Lissa’s persuasion and Christian’s snark. He was pretty much my nephew, and I wasn’t always able to say no to him.
“Come on Andre Jr, race me back to the cabin.” I said as I started to break into a run. He was behind for a while but he started catching up to me quick. Since Moroi started training with us dhampirs, they started catching up to our skills, although not as good, but better than before, when I was still a novice. It wasn’t long until we got back, we usually went to the log cabin, to let Andre practice Spirit magic. Lissa was teaching him, and he was getting pretty good. His special power that Lissa still had to learn was Touch Telepathy. He showed people images or visions through touch. He did it when he was just born. Show-off. But he needs to get his emotions under control, much like Lissa was when she was working through it. But Andre has it harder, he didn’t have a best friend that can absorb his dark feelings.
“Took you long enough.” Lissa said as we halted to a stop.
“Andre here, is as slow as a dying turtle.” I said standing up straight. Him on the other hand had his hands on his knees and was having what looked like a asthma attack.
“As if, Rosie here, was going so slow and I had to match her pace, because I’m a good gentleman.” He straightened up too, and gave me his father’s smirk again. He knew I hated the name Rosie and that I hated being called slow.
“Come on Andy,” he hated being called Andy “you know I can beat you any day, I just don’t want to hurt your fragile ego...” I said sighing dramatically. As I looked back at his face, the smirk was gone, it was more of a sneer.
“You-“ he started
“Are we going to be here all day? Your father and Dimitri are inside, waiting for us, let’s go.”
Lissa said turning, and headed inside.
“Dimitri?” The sneer was gone, replaced with sparkling eyes and a fang-ful smile. Andre loves Dimitri, he pretty much worshipped him. And you know what, I would too. But come on, I’m like 100% biased. We headed inside, it was cool, not too warm, Dimitri was sitting a corner chair with a western novel in his hands, god, he doesn’t change. He was wearing a gray t-shirt with his hair down. Yep, god material right there. Beside him on another corner chair was Christian, also reading a western novel? They both looked up as we entered. Dimitri strode gracefully across the room to me and planted a light kiss on my lips. I started to get dizzy. As he pulled away, he high five-d Andre.
“When did you guys start the book club?” I asked Christian as I sat down in Dimitri’s chair.
“None of your business, Rosie.” He smirked at me. Like father, like son. Christian times two. This is going to be terrific.
Dimitri stood beside Lissa in a protective position while Andre stood in front of her. There wasn’t going to be danger or anything but Andre insisted on the precaution.
“Okay, show me the four elements, one by one.” Lissa said, she always started with this. To give him some confidence, and let him relax.
“Fire.” He lit a small flame with his finger. “Water.” He conjured water from a nearby cup. “Air.” He picked up Dimitri’s book with a twirl of wind and put it back down. “Earth.” He shook the ground, with a flick of his hand. That’s when we heard a scream.
Dimitri and I went on defense immediately shielding the Moroi with our bodies. When nothing happened, we opened the door and checked outside. On the ice was Andre’s friend Taylor, looking down at a hole at his feet. We ran toward him.
“What happened? What’s wrong?” I asked him.
“The ice cr- cracked wh- when the floor shook. And Mason fell....” no other words were needed. Dimitri ripped of his coat and jumped in. Mason, was Andre’s best friend, a novice, Eddie Castile’s son. The thought of seeing another Mason die...
Moments later, Dimitri came back dragging Mason with him.
“He’s not breathing.” Dimitri said “I can’t feel a pulse.” I heard a whimper behind me. Andre moved to make his way beside Mason.
“No...”
“Not you...”
“Why? Not you...”
“NO!” Andre screamed on the top of his lungs, releasing so much energy everyone staggered back. It was Spirit. It was something I felt before. When I woke up after the car accident so many years ago...
“Andre?” Mason asked sitting up, hugging himself from the cold.
“Mason? You are alive? How?” Andre looked up at Lissa. But Lissa was looking at me. Surprisingly with a smile.
“You resurrected him. Like I did Rose” Lissa said. She leaned down next to Mason, “Can you feel Andre’s mind?”
“ I hear loud thoughts along with my own...what happened to me?” Mason said holding his head.
“You got shadow-kissed” I said finally. “History has repeated itself. Yet again.”
