About the Author Lakeisha is a twenty seven year old student of Metaphysical Science and the founder/CEO of a social outreach organization called Ka'neccted LLC. Along with raising awareness, honoring and supporting people affected my he causes she pay tribute to, she also help remember those who are affected the causes as well. Such causes are but not limited to, HIV/AIDS, cancer and domestic violence, LGBT Pride, poverty in America, and suicide prevention. She is an active philanthropist in her community. She is also a dedicated activist for the American cancer society and has been a faithful donor to Joe DiMaggio and the Miami Children's hospital for over Four years. Sneak peek of Scenario's of Why "Internal Monologues" Volume 2

Rachel is a single mother of four who works two jobs. Her oldest daughter Samantha has been a victim of molestation since she was 9 years old, but her mother is unaware of it. Her molester was her father. Samantha’s father and mother have been separated for years, after he decided to be open about his sexual appetite for young boys. Samantha’s father, Steven, has recently been incarcerated and is now serving time in a federal prison. Samantha has not been sexually active after her molestation. But she has been secretly dating an older boy in from neighborhood, a boy who is coincidently, waiting to see a physician at the same clinic as her. Rachel has HIV and her children are not aware…..as of yet…

HIV Saved My Life

Before I was born into this world I was introduced to domestic violence, drug abuse and sexual abuse…. My mother was an addict…. Being pregnant with me wasn’t a good enough reason for her to get clean…. It only made her hunger for drugs worse, only because she was trying to destroy the seed that was fertilized Inside of her(Me)…. Maybe it was because out of possibly 35 different partners, she wasn’t too sure who fathered me, or whose fault it was I should say…. She was always too high or too drunk to remember who she let inside of her….. Being pregnant with me was going to decrease her income…. What man was going to pay for sexual acts from a pregnant prostitute….? As I continued to grow inside of her, her addiction grew…. It grew so strong…. She almost succeeded in destroying me…. I know this must sound crazy but…. I have a vivid memory of being in my mother’s wound…. Hearing screams, cries for help, and sirens I think I have even felt her beatings…. Given by the man that I know as my father…. Things took a turn…. My mother’s water broke…. When the doctor and nurse handed me over to her she fell in love…. My father fell in love…. But unfortunately…. What my mother did to me and her body while I was in the wound was taking a toll on her body and as we slept through the night she took her last breath…. Leaving me to be raised by the man I know as my father and the streets….. Leaving me to take on the role she left behind…. The addict, woman to the man I know as my father, and a victim of domestic violence and other abuse…. I was told my purpose in life is to make the man I call my father happy…. I was told everything I know about my mother because my father would never let me forget it…. It’s like it was his sick and twisted bedtime story…. It was my version of childhood stories…. This had been going on as long as I remember…. Sometimes I wish that it was all a bad dream…. It seemed as if I lived a better life in my sleep…. There wasn’t a day that went by that I didn’t wish that I wouldn’t wake up from my sleep….. Going through grade school, junior high, and senior high was the worst days of my life…. Being that I was less fortunate, I didn’t have the newest fashion, my hair was always a mess, the man I called my father was not embarrassed nor scared to show me the same affection that he showed me at home in front of my peers and the school staff…. Sometimes I wish one of the school employees would call the police on his ass and take him away from me…. I would’ve been glad to go into a foster home…. That would’ve been a whole lot better than the man I call my father coming into my bedroom at night falling asleep on top of me…. Everyone that knew me always question why was I always so angry….? Why am I so violent and defensive….? Those questions provoked me because I grew up mad at the world…. I was mad at everyone….! Until I sat down with aunt Fey…. Aunt Fey was this lady my mother use to run with back in the day…. I’ve called her my aunt for as long as I can remember…. Every time she saw me she would say…. “Girl you look like yo momma!” “I wish I could’ve had me some kids before I got that shhh….( HIV)” I didn’t really know much about HIV until I sat down with aunt Fey…. She put me up on game….!! And then BOOM….! Just like that…. I needed to break free…. I needed a way out…. And aunt Fey was it….! My plan was…. To have aunt Fey take my place in bed one night…. So when that BASTARD i call my father…. Comes in MY bedroom to lay on top of ME…. He will be digging his own grave…. In aunt Fey…. (Chuckle) Hell, me aunt Fey was just about the same size so…. I knew we could pull it off…. Besides…he always stumbled in drunk anyway…. And he never cut on the lights…. So I presented my glorious plan to aunt Fey…. And to my surprise she was down…..! She said she hadn’t been with a man in years and she would be honored to take him out….!!!! And what’ll you know…. When that night came…. I felt as though God sent his BEST angels to look after me….! The plan worked like a charm….! Me and aunt Fey swore to take we had done to our graves…. She did…. And I plan to do the same….! So…. HIV Saved My Life….
