I moved my CatDog stuff! I LOVE IT!!!!
You know what I find interesting about the characters on CatDog?
None of the recurring characters are strictly good or strictly bad. Whether they're protagonists, or antagonists, they have all had their good moments, and they've all had their jerkass moments.
Cat is a victim of a crapsack world, yes, and one does feel genuinely sorry for him. However, he also has his moments of being a selfish jerkass prick, and some of his bad luck is karma coming back to bite him. He is flawed.
Cliff is a bully, a heartless and cruel one, especially in the TV movie. But he has a softer side to him that we see often. He has a teddy bear, he loves his baby niece, he cares about Shriek and Lube like they're his siblings, etc.
As mean-spirited as the show was, I think it was fantastic that the characters were multi-faceted like that. Everyone's problematic in some way. No one is free of sin in Nearburg. And the opposite is true; no one is strictly awful, either.
Isn't that how real life works, too? No one is 100% bad or good. It's always some mix of the two. It's a harsh reality, but the best of us CAN be horrible, and the worst of us ARE capable of doing good things.
