Heya, it’s Katie/Travis/whatever you wanna call me. I’m using proper typing/grammar for once because I feel like it. There’s a TLDR if needed at the end.

This has been a while coming, but I’m going to stop roleplaying on tumblr. It stresses me out to reply, I forget to anyways most of the time, and it takes me a long time to reply with paragraph style. 

I’ve really enjoyed roleplaying on here, but fact of the matter is, I much prefer rping on skype. Which is why I’m making this post. If we’ve roleplayed in the past or even just chatted, feel free to message me and I’ll give you my Skype, or if you already have me send me a message. I still roleplay on there nearly every day, same fandom or another fandom or ocs or whatever. I’m more relaxed with what I roleplay, since it’s easier to communicate and such, and I usually do chat style but I’ll also do paragraph style or script style, even.

But yeah, I’m probably not going to touch any of my roleplay accounts anymore. Maybe I’ll come back to it someday, but for now, consider me gone. My accounts will still be up and askbox will be open, for archival reasons mostly, but consider all threads ended and I’m not going to start any new ones.

TLDR; if you want to continue a roleplay, or start a new one, ask for my Skype, anyone who I’ve roleplayed with or talked to can ask. Don’t be afraid to, really! But sadly, I’m no longer roleplaying on here. Thanks for reading!

Personally, I’m a mess of conflicting impulses—I’m independent and greedy and I also want to belong and share and be a part of the whole. I doubt that I’m the only one who feels this way. It’s the core of monster making, actually. Wanna make a monster? Take the parts of yourself that make you uncomfortable—your weaknesses, bad thoughts, vanities, and hungers—and pretend they’re across the room. It’s too ugly to be human. It’s too ugly to be you. Children are afraid of the dark because they have nothing real to work with. Adults are afraid of themselves. Let me tell you what I do know: I am more than one thing, and not all of those things are good. The truth is complicated. It’s two-toned, multi-vocal, bittersweet. I used to think that if I dug deep enough to discover something sad and ugly, I’d know it was something true. Now I’m trying to dig deeper.

The angels came down to earth in a rowdy, exultant flurry, chattering in ten languages and dripping gold from their fingertips and half-parted mouths. At first they were awe inspiring, ethereal, untouchable and radiant.But the longer they stayed, the more they became pests. They ate my peanut butter sandwiches and spilled crumbs everywhere, borrowed my clothes and did not give them back. They claimed they didn’t know how to work a dish washer, a clothes drier, a vacuum cleaner. They drank my wine and told long, exaggerated stories boasting of the cities they sacked, the faces they wore, and the beautiful men that they wrestled with in the dark. “We were the favored sons,” they said dreamily, eyes unfocused, fat cans of beer or diet coke in their milky-white hands. “We were adored and feared. We were never hungry.” They are always hungry, now, so I tell them they can stay for the weekend until they find jobs. They claim they don’t need money until I tell them I’m running out of mac ‘n cheese. In their resumes, they list their qualifications. Their strengths are, in no particular order: Burning shit Having three heads or three legs Turning people into pillars of salt Delivering ominous messages Flying really fast. I can’t think of any shit to be burned or people to send ominous messages to, but I feel guilty, so I send them outside to rake the leaves in the yard. I watch through the window as they scoop up the leaves in their enormous wings and drop them on each other’s heads, laughing. So I come outside, and I’m laughing as well, and I let the angels enfold me in a feathery embrace. They smell like freshly cut grass, clean paper, rose water and Old Spice and my father’s aftershave. “Why are you here?” I ask them. “Why now?” They hold me tighter, press their slippery faces to the crook of my neck, between my shoulder blades, forehead to forehead and shoulder to shoulder. “We are always here,” they say, toothy smiles flecked with gold. “But why today?” I press. The angels shrug their shoulders. “We were lonely,” they say. “Weren’t you?”

hey y’all, sorry for the lack of replies. i’ve been really stressed recently with my depression kinda ruining my motivation ability. i’ve been trying to do replies, getting distracted, and then... not. 

i’m getting antidepressants soon, so that will help. but that’s gonna be next month or so, and we have to tinker around with the medicine until it works and all. for now, i’m gonna do my best to get replies done, but it will probably still be pretty slow.
