born to immigrant parents, the aksoy family never had a lot but they had the love and support of each other. his father worked two jobs to support them, and he was able to purchase a small house for them. kaan's family grew up near the territory controlled by the rift riders and while they kept a civil relationship with them, his father never wanted anyone in their family to get involved with the rift riders. kaan's childhood best friend grew up in that world though. his father and uncle were members, and he intended to join when he grew up.

the two were irreparable growing up. kaan did sometimes get in trouble with him, the two teenagers developing a bit of a reputation. when he graduated high school, kaan stuck around town and worked odd jobs. after he got in trouble for being in the car with his friend who was drunk driving, kaan's father threatened to kick him out if he didn't shape up.

when he was 20 his whole world was turned upside down. his parents were killed in a single car accident. all of a sudden he was the sole guardian of his underage sister. he shaped up, dropping his childhood friend and the troublesome reputation. he shaped up and became a beat cop. while taking care of his sister he worked his way up and eventually earned his shield becoming a detective. his little sister had left town for college and he couldn't be happier when she came back after some years on her own to return and better her home.

everything changed six months ago. his sister was diagnosed with an illness. her chances were slim, but there was a treatment. an expensive one. when his prior childhood best friend approached kaan with a proposition he had to consider it. if he helped the rift riders it would be wroth his while. he'd get paid for slipping information, for looking the other way and helping the gang. he'd become a dirty cop and he'd be paid well for it. kaan hated what he had become but he needed the money. every cent went towards his little sister's treatment. for her he'd do anything. even become dirty.

as sienna took a sip of her wine, she kept her eyes glued to the screen of her phone. the headlines all were reporting on the arrest of one daniella st. james. she had heard about the events of the festivities from tommy but had still been in new york city at the time. none of them disclosed who was representing her. or who the city would be assigning the case to. but what she really needed to find out was how others reacted to this development. did they believe she had done it? questions were racing in her mind when another joined her in the open seat next to her. " sienna's lips curled up in a smile as she took a sip of her drink. she had been surprised dami invited her out tonight, the ticket had taken less than an hour to get sorted out and off his record. but she wasn't about to look a gift horse in the mouth. though she had only recently arrived, she had been bored. this was finally something fun to do.

born the third child and first daughter, sienna was hardly shielded from the true family business. her brothers were groomed as the heir and the spare. but she still felt the responsibility placed on her to do her part and further the family business. as she grew she only strived to make her father proud and to prove that despite her gender she could still work her way up the ladder. she didn't want to be set aside, useful for nothing more than marriage like so many of her gender.

foster siblings came and went over the years, her already large family fluctuating through her childhood. but tati was one who stayed in the picture and who became part of the inner circle of siblings. the ones who stayed. sienna never invested much in the siblings until they stayed for a certain amount of time. when one left too quickly she hardly blinked as they hadn't been one of them. not yet. she loved all her siblings and would do anything for them but tommy had always been the one she'd been closest too.

sienna had been popular and pretty growing up. she had a zest for life and was the burning bright spot in a crowd. feminine without ever sacrificing a dangerous current underneath. she wanted to be treated seriously but still have womanly wiles to wield like a knife. she learned how to look the part. when it came time for college, she got accepted to columbia before going to yale law school later. she graduated top of her class and got a job at a firm in her family's pocket. sienna remained that bright, vivacious girl and made sure she never lost her effervescent spark.

tati was sent west to marry the santoro heir and don and sienna stayed behind in new york still proving herself to her father. when tommy left she felt for him knowing the hard task ahead of him. they still stayed in contact as he kept her updated on the happenings out there. she stayed behind though, still trying to gain her father's approval. but when her father pushed to send her out west for a united front of family sienna jumped at the chance to prove herself to him. she only recently arrived and secured a job at a law firm associated with her new in-laws the santoros.
