Ā Ā Ā ā you havenāt done anything that needs my forgiveness.Ā ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā bones unstrung, the poundingĀ of herĀ heart akin toĀ tidal wavesĀ crashing against shipwreckedĀ ribs, she slips from the titanium armorĀ so meticulouslyĀ crafted around her ( melded into the very marrowĀ of herĀ brittle bones, into the chambers of her heartĀ ) && for onceĀ can he truly see her. see the decayed architectureĀ of her marred soul, a canvas ravished by rot && death. he is the pillarĀ where she crumbles, the altarĀ she bows && hangs her headĀ before. her lie is honey sweet, sincere in intent, && she hesitates, bittersweet smile playing upon the edges of her lips.
Ā Ā ā no, thatās a lie, && youād say so too. ā she laughs, a faltering, cracking sound.ā i should say that you donāt needĀ my forgiveness. not to me.Ā i donāt think itās worth much at this point when i canāt tell when youāll leave or stay. thatĀ being said,Ā ā she pauses, looks up at him through wetĀ lashes && smiles, tilts her head up to press a lingeringĀ kiss to the corner of his lips,ā i will wait for you, for an eternity if i have to. you have my heart.Ā ā her sigh is shaky, smile tremblingĀ as she ( shamefully ) allows her sorrowĀ to streak down her cheek before bowing her head into the crook of his neck ( silent, yet she clings to him as a believerĀ does their god ).Ā
Ā Ā ā it wasnāt just him.Ā ā her voice naught more than a mere whisper, dolor a knifeĀ as sharp as her liesĀ plunged into her rotting heart.Ā ā i had a daughter. trinity.Ā ā her lips curlĀ around the name, spoken akin to an empty prayer.Ā ā sheās dead too.Ā ā
OH, FOOLISH HEART! TO RELY ON HIM WAS NOTHING SHORT OF A TRAGEDY IN THE MAKING!Ā for he was far too cowardlyĀ to do more than just appear in memories.Ā he was little more than a ghost, drifting through life without aim or direction, the bands of immortality having long-since cast him into eternal dread and misery. FEARĀ had long-since rooted itself into his heart, fear of losing himself, fear of losing the person he loved, and his response to it was simple: avoidance. it was why he so often disappeared for extended periods of time: he was afraid of loss, of rejection, and somewhere in his mind he had gained the twisted idea that he needed to leave for her to be happy. had he not been SELFISH, maybe his idea would have worked. yet, for as scaredĀ as he was, he still cravedĀ her. she represented what he had once thought to be lost; around her, he could fool himself into thinking that nothing had changed, and that they actually had a chance to be happy together. wasnāt that a pretty little lie, though?
FOR HER, HE STOOD STRONG, a pillar against the crashing waves that pounded against them and tried to consume the both of them. he would not fall when she needed him to protect her; it was the only purpose he had in this endless life. strong arms tightened around her as he attempted to soothe the cascade of emotions that were attempting to drown her, though he feared his efforts did little to actually help. no words could ease the pain she was presenting him--he knew that, he did--so he did not offer any. words really werenāt his strong point, anyway. with a determined set to his jaw, ace shifted so he could fully embrace onyx, heart heavy and conscious burning as he did something he feared he didnāt do often enough: listened.Ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā āi do not know why you continue to Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā wait, but i am grateful. perhaps Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā someday we can say that it was Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā all worth it. we cannot grow old Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā together, but...perhaps there are Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā other ways to mark the passage Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā of time.ā
IT WAS A WHISPERED PROMISE, words uttered with both the intent to comfort her and himself, but also to offer her an insight to his own thoughts. he so rarely spoke of the future--he lived in the moment, as thoughts of the future were suffocatingĀ at best--and this was perhaps the first time he had verbally spoken of anything other than the present. the fact that he included her was no small thing, and while this was hardly a concrete promise, he could only hope that it would offer her some small relief.Ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā āthere cannot be a future until certain Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā things have been dealt with. i run a Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā lot, but i always return to you. i ask Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā forgiveness for being so caught up Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā in what i cannot change, but...
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā it will not always be that way.āĀ AGAIN, HE PROMISED A FUTURE FOR THE BOTH OF THEM.Ā whether or not such an event would actually transpire was debatable--he wasnāt certain whether or not he would ever truly be able to relax and accept himself--but it was something. and perhaps that was what she needed right now: a promise of continuity to fight against the darkness of abandonment. it was the best he could offer.Ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā ātrinity. a beautiful name. i bet Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā she was as beautiful as her Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā name.ā Ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā āwhat happened?ā Ā
HE COULD NOT FIGHT THE PAST FOR HER, BUT HE COULD LISTEN and pray (to a god he no longer believed in) that it would be enough to help.
