You've come across a small clipping of a newspaper. It seems to be a review of some kind, the paper is torn and crumpled, but smoothed out flat once more.

Ji-Wook Hak is well known for his vibrant and energetic performances on-stage, but meeting him there's a certain languor to his posture. Off-stage he moves like a panther at the zoo, arrogant, confident, and overall bored. Odd things catch his attention briefly, but just as quickly he dismisses them with a harsh snap to his tone. This might turn some people off from the man, but his fans seem to enjoy the vicious attitude in spite of all common sense. They're often dismissive of criticisms of their beloved star because of his tragic past, brainwashed by dreams of comforting the celebrity through trauma and becoming stars themselves by riding his designer coat tails or simply living a life of luxury in spite of their extravagant merch purchases leaving many of them with empty wallets.

According to recent uncovered evidence the famous popstar may not be as traumatized as previously shown. Witnesses at the scene of the fire, notorious for killing all the members of his previous boy band, NO SPIN, say that the surviving celebrity was "deliriously laughing" as fire crews helped remove him from the burning rubble, and that he was in an oddly bright mood for the following days. Further investigations are underway.

Part of him wanted to sink into the apparent kindness. He was so fucking exhausted, fucking tired of pain. It was so easy to let himself believe that Ji-woon was being nice for once.

But that’s what actually snapped him out of it. This wasn’t just any killer who decided to take pity on him, as if any of them would. This was the Trickster, the man who obsessed over him for years, who couldn’t let it go that Jake was the only person he couldn’t get to scream for him. This man didn’t have a kind bone in his damn body, so why was he—

As Ji-woon’s hands moved lower, a realization hit him. Jake growled, reaching around to grab the killer’s wrist in his hand. “If you’re looking for my knife, I don’t have it anymore.”

"You don't?!" Hm. Odd, and ruined his plans... Hmmmm...

"Darling, you and that thing were inseperable last time I checked.. " He hummed, allowing Jake to hold his wrist and running his thumb over Jake's cheek with his free hand. "It must be quite the story..."

He didn’t try to stop the touches. As much as he didn’t trust the killer not to turn on him, at least it wasn’t more pain. He could deal with this in the meantime.

“Not much of a story,” he muttered. Memories of Bass welled up with a bitter taste. The Entity commanding him, turning his own knife on him and carving into his shoulder, chasing him into his own own home and killing him in the dark. Jake tensed up and scowled, moving to try and sit up and shake off the memories. The attempt made his head swim, so ultimately he just stayed in place.

Was he bleeding somewhere? With all the knives stabbed into him it seemed likely, would probably at least account for the fatigue, but it was hard to tell anymore. “One of the entities killed me. Woke up in a trial as a survivor. No knife, nothing.” He paused for a moment before groaning. “I’ll bet Kel’s pissed at me…”

Jake finally let go of Ji-woon’s wrist to wipe at his intact eye. The blood that had spilled into it was starting to dry into a tacky paste, and if he didn’t do something it would probably crust up and glue his eye shut. And if he wasn’t about to be tortured, he at least wanted to be able to see.

"Most likely... I doubt the entities would enjoy their playthings getting roughed up by others of their kind..." Ji-Woon's hand drifted to the handle of his knife that remained in Jake's eye, just tracing the edges of it and seeing if that alone was enough to trigger anything or if too much damage had been done for it to be noticeable. He still wanted to hurt Jake, but there was a curious sort of intimacy here... It was like... Like testing the edges of notes, plucking softly at strings to see what sort of song would come from it all...

"Well then things are back the way they should be." He decided in the moment, with a soft little giggle. "You've been hunted amd chased all over the place and still get caught and maimed. That little experiment of letting you fight back must have been decided to be a mistake. You're a survivor. And that is that."

Jake was about to say something snarky and bitter about the plaything comment, but the ever-so-slight pressure on the knife in his eye made him tense up with a sharp intake of breath.

Maybe that’s what he was doing. Trying to get Jake to lower his guard enough to make the pain he was planning all the more painful. It would track, really. Ji-woon had never been particularly patient, but what he lacked in that department he more than made up for in creativity.

And then there was the last comment, and hearing it suggested out loud turned his blood to ice.

Jake hated being the Game Warden. He hated doing the Entity’s bidding, hated being special to her. He hated dying over and over to Goliaths he was expected to hunt with a shitty little knife, hated the way the other survivors regarded him with suspicion and avoided him even after all this time.

He hated everything about it, and yet the idea that it was done with, that he’d had his chance to fight back and now he was right back to being as helpless as ever, filled him dread so deep his bones ached with it.

That dread crystallized almost instantly into anger. He wasn’t helpless. He wasn’t just a survivor. And he didn’t need the Entity’s fucking blessing to prove that he was just as much of a threat as any of these sadistic assholes.

Jake’s hand moved to the hand of the knife in his eye, and with a chest-deep growl he tore it out and lunged at the Trickster.

Jake is so beautiful, so beautiful...! To witness his emotions twist and turn ah that's what always drew Ji-Woon Hak to him.. Just a few words and they danced across his face. Shame, sorrow, a building rage. He wanted to turn that emotional volatility into music but it was always in the most frustrating silence!!

So perhaps he was a little transfixed and giddy when Jake reached up for the knife, tearing it free from his eye in a spattering of blood. The RESOLVE for such a move, oh be still his beating heart~♡!

And then there was a lunge at himself and Ji-Woon was just a shade too slow on the reaction, stunned that Jake would slash at him with Ji-Woon's own knife. His knife, Jake's blood, and now Ji-Woon's own blood, mingled together, oh it was almost romantic...

But then the pain hit him. The darkening of his own vision in that one side, the peel of flesh parted and the hot running of blood- He had been cut! Across his FACE of all things! And the horror of that had the popstar leap up with a primal roar of rage and fear- hand pressed desperately over the injury.

He can't be seen like this.

Only the briefest of glances was given to Jake, before he limped off into the forests at a half-run, his dignity forgotten in the face of this deeper horror.

There’s nothing quite as unsettling as the feeling of being stabbed. It’s not just the pain, it’s the feeling of penetration, of a foreign object being shoved where it doesn’t belong and all of the shifting bone and muscle that comes with it. Jake felt his stomach churn at the feeling, as the pressure from Ji-woon’s weight pressing him flush to the hard-soiled ground forced the knives almost entirely into his shoulder.

Still, he didn’t make a sound aside from the hiss of air through clenched teeth, resisting the urge to so much as curse. He didn’t want to chance making any kind of sound, just in case he could hold back anymore. He was gonna have to hold out for a while, after all. There wasn’t a damn thing he could say to Ji-woon to convince him to just get it over with already.

Jake took a long, shuddering breath as he turned his head to the side. Just enough to get a little more air, just enough to glare up at the killer from the corner of his eye.

He was gonna be tortured to death anyway. Why not earn it?

“You should wear black and blue more often,” he muttered, a smirk pulling at the edge of his lips. “Looks good on you.”

The knife came out and into his hand immediately, almost automatically. As naturally as the sharp inhale of his breath.

And a pause.

When he moved again it was with the casual disappointment of someone doing a chore. A slightly disgusting chore that someone else should have taken care of awhile ago.

Bending over he had plenty of Jake's overgrown hair to grab a tight fistful of, nails scraping his scalp. Only then did he remove his foot from Jake's back, at the same time yanking the warden's hair, forcing him to roll over. From there he oh so dispassionately took aim, and tossed a blade directly down, aiming for the pest's eye.

Deep breaths. Don’t react. Just let the pain move past.

The knife skewering his hand almost made him gasp, if only for how unexpected it was, but he was prepared now. He knew what was coming.

The grip on his hair did pull a grunt from him, but any sensation crawling over his scalp was quickly replaced by the hot tearing of his hand out of the knife as he was turned over. He only had a moment to clench his jaw before the next attack came.

His vision was washed in red, and suddenly he couldn’t see. It was just the one eye, he knew it was just the one eye, but it was like the pain swathed over his entire vision. Maybe the blood was blinding his intact eye too. Or maybe on some level he just… really didn’t want to see the rest of it coming.

Deep breaths. Take the pain in waves. Eventually he would be back at the campfire again, aching but intact. It was just a matter of waiting.

Ji-woon's hand stilled, another knife already between his fingers and ready to find a new target- But.....

But.....

Jake was so damn stubborn. He could clamp down on his reactions like nobody else the popstar knew. Certainly not welcoming the pain, but not making any sort of show whatsoever. It was like drawing blood from a tree.

away.....

And Ji-Woon slowly sank to the ground next to the bloody man, still watching him with that cold, distant glare, but his hand reached out and started to play with Jake's hair.. A sigh slipped out of him, resigning himself to not getting what he wanted from all this. His burning anger was quickly turning into bitter ashes....

"Why are you like this.....? Is it really worth it? To come all this way to try to chain me up?? You have to have known that I would get out eventually. You have to have known it would make me angry. But then, when I am angry you do this? Suffer in silence? Is that doing something for you?"

Jake waited for the next spark of pain.

And waited.

He stayed tense, his fists curled so tight his nails dug into his palms and his chest stuttered with every breath. He couldn’t see what was coming, couldn’t hear over the sound of his own blood rushing in his ears. And it was taking forever. Maybe Ji-woon had suddenly developed a sense of patience or—

His breath actually hitched as he suddenly felt the fingers curl into his hair. At first he thought the killer was grabbing a fistful to yank, but then he just… played with it. Deft fingers carding almost soothingly through his hair.

The tension broke immediately and Jake whimpered. It wasn’t a voluntary sound by any means, but the shock of the expectation of torture followed by something that felt genuinely nice almost seemed to short circuit something in his brain.

Despite that, he leaned into the feeling. Having a sensation ground him like that was making everything else feel stronger, hurt worse, but it was still something to focus on that wasn’t the pain. He barely even heard Ji-woon’s words, just centering in the feeling of his hand in his hair and working on keeping his breathing steady.

After getting so little noise from Jake for so long, Ji-Woon's ears were tuned to pick up on the slightest thing. He had hoped for whimpers, but not expected to get ones like that....

"Oh, baby~" He cooed, all sugary sweet tone but maliciously glittering eyes. "You fight so hard all the time.. Aren't you tired~☆? Wouldn't you like to just put down all that baggage and relax~♡?"

Jake growled under his breath at the condescending tone, but… Fuck, he was tired. At least as a survivor he hadn’t been dying multiple times a trial, but it was still exhausting. Everything about this place was exhausting.

Maybe some part of him wanted to believe that Ji-woon was insane enough to turn on a dime like that, that this wasn’t just the killer buttering him up for something worse. He certainly couldn’t see the look in his eyes, revealing his true intentions.

Jake decided to take a stupid risk. “Y… Yeah. God… Yeah.”

"Then you should relax~♡♡" The roaming hand was joined by another, lifting Jake's head gently up to rest on Ji-Woon's lap, undisturbed by the blood soaking into his designer clothes. They worked together to massage Jake's scalp, before working down to his neck, his shoulders....

If he could keep this up he might find that pesky Knife that the man took as a nickname. Do some REAL damage....

Ji-woon was fucking unstable at the best of times, going from languidly blasé in one moment to actively violent in the next. As well as he knew the man by now, Jake still didn’t fully have a handle on what actually causes those shifts to happen.

As it was, he ended up with two knives embedded in his fucking shoulder. He clenched his jaw, hissing through the pain as he waited for the first hot spike of it to simmer into a dull throbbing he could handle.

Those were gonna hurt like a bitch when they came out, but he didn’t have time to worry about that. He needed to get the plant off before Ji-woon decided to do something worse.

He could try and run but he wouldn’t get far, and he couldn’t release the latch on the collar because Ji-woon fucking broke it. His options were rapidly dwindling and he could already see the killer reaching for his knives.

Jake grabbed a hold of the chain around his neck and started using it as leverage to climb. And sure, hiding in the tree wasn’t a guaranteed escape considering the killer’s range, but if he could squirrel himself among the branches and break line of sight…

A half-dozen knives flew at Jake as he climbed, paired with insults in Korean that insinuated his parentage wasn't entirely human, among other curses.

Ji-Woon Hak paced furiously around the bottom of the tree. Hair wild, the bruise to his face slowly darkening and becoming a brilliant black eye. Any glimpse of Jake got knives tossed at, but in time he realized this was not going to work and started looking for other solutions.

In a fit of agner-fuelled brilliance he turned to the chain itself. It's anchor point in the tree was within reach, so he grabbed two fistfuls and let his body weight do the pulling downwards.

It was easy enough to dodge the knives once he had cover to work with. The two in his shoulder throbbed painfully, especially after the exertion of climbing, but he could deal with those once Ji-woon finally left.

Which he had to eventually. The man wasn’t getting anywhere with the knives and he clearly wasn’t about to dirty himself with climbing after. Jake watched smugly as he paced around the base of the tree like a frustrated cat, waiting for him to finally give up so he could—

Jake’s eyes went wide as the chain connecting to the collar suddenly went taut and pulled, the shock of it causing him to lose his balance and plummet to the ground.

He’d fallen out of trees before, but that never made it easier to handle. Jake landed face down, the knives in his shoulder shoved deeper into his shoulder by the impact. The shock and pain managed to pull a guttural groan out of him, but he still had the wherewithal not to scream around Ji-woon. He’d never get away from the man if he did.

The falling man was easily sidestepped, Ji-Woon staring down at him with nothing but contempt. This was an anger that had burned away all the fun of this hunt, finally scorched away the wild fury, and left him with a calm, clear, and *quiet* fury.

So it was with incredibly deliberate poise he brought a foot up and placed it between Jake's shoulder blades, putting his weight into keeping the man facedown. He had to work to take a calm breath though, focusing intently to keep a tremor out of it and to coax a tremble out of his hands. Taking a moment to tidy his hair helped, but the fury remained.

"Give me a good reason why I should grant you the mercy of a quick death." He purred.

“You can’t touch me like this, though,” Jake said, searching for any kind of leverage. He gnawed on the inside of his cheek, thinking about what he was willing to put up with. If he was lucky, anything would be temporary anyway. He just wanted out of the plant. “You could have me all to yourself for a bit, yeah? No hiding.”

No promises either, but he had his doubts about how much of his own end of the deal the Trickster would hold to anyway.

In any case, he shrugged out of the collar as if it was a night robe, one hand sensually running along his own neck, just for show. "That was so kind of you~ Thank you, Kyomi~♡♡"

A knife flicked out as he paced over to the other, idly toying with it. "Allow me to return the favor~☆♡☆"

A slice cut the air-

And tore the pesky plant off not at the tendrils that clung to Jake, but at the stem, so it still clung tightly.

With a singsong hum on his lips, Ji-Woon hefted Jake up like a sack of potatoes, carrying him away just a short distance before dropping him to the ground. Still singing to himself he picked up the collar and snapped it around Jake's neck, snapping a vital peice of the locking mechanism so it jammed in place.

"There we go~♡☆♡☆!! Much better!"

Jake had hoped the plant would loosen or fall away entirely once it had been cut off from the base, but that wasn’t what happened. Instead it froze in place, keeping its crushing grip in stasis no matter how much he pushed to get it open.

And to make matters worse… Well. Of course Ji-woon was there to take advantage of the situation.

The audible snap of the locking mechanism made Jake flinch, but any fear he might’ve felt wasn’t apparent on his face. The only expression he had was incandescent anger. “Very funny, asshole,” he spat, kicking out at the Trickster’s legs. Even if he couldn’t land a solid hit on the bastard’s kneecap he would settle for bruised shins. “Get me out of this thing!”

Now THAT was a very nasty move.

Ji-Woon Hak could be light on his feet- not fast but skilled as years of choreography taught him, but he still had his weak spots.

Jake's foot snapped out and caught him right in the leg- his burned leg. Remnant of the fire that claimed No Spin, and still, even in the fog, scarred and aching.

He gasped, more at the shock and anticipation of pain than anything registered quite yet. His leg gave out and he managed to catch himself on his hands and knees- but Ji-Woon Hak was on his hands and knees. In the DIRT.

"이 개자식아 너가 내 옷을 망쳤어!!" He hissed in fury, pushing his hair up out of his face to glare wildly at Jake. He didn't so much move to Jake as lunge at him, driving knives in indiscriminately in two deep stabs, knuckles white with the intensity of his grip and draaaagged himself face to face with Jake. "나한테 무엇을 해야 할지 말해 줄 수 있을 것 같아요? 넌 내 부츠 밑에 있는 벌레야."

Okay, this is clearly a horrible idea. But if Jake was gonna get a chance to ensure this maniac would stay in one place for a while, it was this.

The leash in question was tied tight around a tree branch on one end and clipped to a collar on the other, and Jake was doing his damn best to sneak up on the pop star before he could get spotted.

It's not often that Ji-Woon enjoys the outdoors. Even here in the fog it's... Messy. Not particularly glamorous. The trees tended towards spooky and grim, and he was one much more for the scenic and glamorous. Buuut... He could make exceptions now and then...

Such as for this divine little corner he'd wandered into recently! Goodness what beautiful things! Right here the fog bordered up onto some strange new realm, so trees battled for space against... something! Whatever they were, they were something! That's for sure!

Like this little fine that seemed to have Teeth. Or the bushy, segmented... Cactus??? That had segmented portions and a jaw like a spring trap. Was that a WALL of INTESTINES??

Alas, before he could skip on over to investigate more closely there was a surprise in store for him! A quick patter of footsteps right behind him- far too late to do anything before there was a sudden click right around his neck and a weight that wasn't there before-

Oh! But none of that mattered! Because it was Jake! He immediately got tunnel vision and could focus on nothing else.

"Kiyomi~♡☆♡!!" He gushed, pacing towards the man with a wide smile and arms reaching as if for an embrace. "How sweet of you to come for- hnm???"

End of the chain and his line of thought stopped as quickly as his feet did. "Oh? Oh what an interesting little gift~☆??" The popstar crooned as he ran a hand along the leash "You know, you could have asked, but the surprise is SO much more romantic~♡♡♡"

Ugh. He should have expected that much. Jake took a few steps back from the Trickster, staying out of range and watching where the end of the leash tightened on the branch. It was holding firm.

“You’re fucking delusional,” Jake huffed. “I just wanted to make sure you couldn’t go anywhere.”

To what end? He didn’t know. Partially it was because he was without his knife now, and the worry of meeting Ji-woon in a trial as a survivor again had been creeping up his spine. He knew this might not do much. If the Entity wanted him for a trial, it would just take him, regardless of what Jake did to try and prevent it. But maybe he hoped it would work differently in this strange alien environment.

He took another step back as the branch creaked slightly, hitting back against a flesh-textured object. Was it moving?

"Make sure I didn't go anywhere??" The Trickster's tone was all Himbo Obliviousness. Kenergy, even. But he knew enough to know Jake didn't like him. A hand went up to the collar to investigate and it was heavy metal, not something his knives could cut through. The chain was thick, something more for industrial use. He presumed Jake must have raided Evan's supplies for these, they certainly were meant to keep something or someone in place. And following the chain, it was driven by a stake deep into a standard tree nearby. (He didn't know what kind, who even CARES about trees that much to know what kind? Not him.)

"Jaaaake~♡" He crooned, with a little more malice in his tone, a little more tightness to his lips. "Baby~♡ Sweetheart~♡ You aren't thinking of leaving me alone out here~☆?? Anything could happen by...." He even put a little pout at the end, even though it was a lie. He didn't care about other things coming by, it was the isolation that worried him more. There NOT being anyone was worse than any of the monsters out in the Fog.

"Jake, you're so funny~♡" His pitch dropped from singsong and light to deeper and more deadly serious, reaching for his knives. "Come back here right now."

Jake glared at him as Ji-woon drew his knives. “Or what?” he asked, daring the killer to run him off with a volley of knives. “I kinda like the view better over here.”

The power shift was definitely addicting, but there was the issue of what would happen if he did leave. The Trickster was absolutely one to hold a grudge, and Jake already didn’t like his chances of meeting him again in a trial.

Still, maybe it would be worth it. Just the satisfaction of knowing how pissed off he was, alone in an alien realm with nobody to listen to his incessant whining. Maybe that would be worth whatever the killer would do to him after…

As he debated this in his head, Jake didn’t notice the fleshy plant moving against his back, slowly but surely turning to grab him.

Ji-Woon's hand stilled, knife in hand. If he threw a knife, Jake was likely to leave him entirely, especially if he actually hit him... Maybe a near miss....?

It was only as his golden eyes skimmed over the foliage around Jake, intending to choose a secondary target, that he also noticed the foliage shifting. It was so... bizarre.. So unexpected, that he tilted his head like a dog, trying to process just what the hell was he actually looking at....?

Jake blinked, noticing the way Ji-woon’s expression abruptly changed. “…What? The fuck are you looking at?”

He didn’t have time to wait for an answer. The second he spoke, the plant snapped closed around him.

A surprised gasp escaped his chest as the flesh-like fibers pinned his arms to his sides, holding him in a vice grip as he struggled to free himself. The more Jake squirmed the tighter it closed, until he could hardly breathe. It wasn’t until he stopped moving, trying to catch his breath, that the plant loosened even slightly.

“Fuck.” Fantastic. If he wasn’t bled out by Ji-woon’s knives he was going to be digested by an alien plant. Jake knocked his head back against the wall of the plant with a groan.

Ji-woon's breathless giggle was startled out of him when the plant snapped around Jake, a chill running up his spine and his head tilting even further.

"Oh my, oh my~♡! What is that~♡♡??" Step, step- stop. His collar wouldn't let him get any closer and he was still well out of arm's reach of Jake, prompting a very, very brief scowl to cross his pretty features before he shrugged it off. A restraint could just as easily be a support, and he leaned into the tension to take a casual pose. "You're so popular.. Everything wants to get their hands on you~☆"

Jake grunted and kicked his frustration at the plant, fixing Ji-woon with a glare. The situation could’ve been worse, sure, but not by much. “I’m sure you’re enjoying it.”

Possibly the worst part was that it was Jake’s own damn fault he was stuck and he knew it. He shouldn’t have been so careless around plants he didn’t recognize, a lesson he’d already learned back in the mountains. It didn’t stop being relevant just because he couldn’t technically die anymore.

He kept silently trying to squirm out of the restraints for a few minutes, his face growing hotter the longer Ji-woon watched him struggle, but after tiring himself out he just leaned his head to the side and scowled at the celebrity. “Don’t suppose you’re in much of a mind to help out, are you?”

"Mmmm... You know, I would, buuuut...." He sighed, putting on an extra level of poutiness just for the sheer sarcasm of it all. The knife he had grabbed earlier was still out, but it was being put to use to trim his nails. "I just seem to recall something you've done recently... Oh I can't possibly remember what, but you wanted.. mmm.. some space I believe? For me to stay right over here? You know that really hurt my feelings... Made me feel unwanted...."

Okay, this is clearly a horrible idea. But if Jake was gonna get a chance to ensure this maniac would stay in one place for a while, it was this.

The leash in question was tied tight around a tree branch on one end and clipped to a collar on the other, and Jake was doing his damn best to sneak up on the pop star before he could get spotted.

It's not often that Ji-Woon enjoys the outdoors. Even here in the fog it's... Messy. Not particularly glamorous. The trees tended towards spooky and grim, and he was one much more for the scenic and glamorous. Buuut... He could make exceptions now and then...

Such as for this divine little corner he'd wandered into recently! Goodness what beautiful things! Right here the fog bordered up onto some strange new realm, so trees battled for space against... something! Whatever they were, they were something! That's for sure!

Like this little fine that seemed to have Teeth. Or the bushy, segmented... Cactus??? That had segmented portions and a jaw like a spring trap. Was that a WALL of INTESTINES??

Alas, before he could skip on over to investigate more closely there was a surprise in store for him! A quick patter of footsteps right behind him- far too late to do anything before there was a sudden click right around his neck and a weight that wasn't there before-

Oh! But none of that mattered! Because it was Jake! He immediately got tunnel vision and could focus on nothing else.

"Kiyomi~♡☆♡!!" He gushed, pacing towards the man with a wide smile and arms reaching as if for an embrace. "How sweet of you to come for- hnm???"

End of the chain and his line of thought stopped as quickly as his feet did. "Oh? Oh what an interesting little gift~☆??" The popstar crooned as he ran a hand along the leash "You know, you could have asked, but the surprise is SO much more romantic~♡♡♡"

Ugh. He should have expected that much. Jake took a few steps back from the Trickster, staying out of range and watching where the end of the leash tightened on the branch. It was holding firm.

“You’re fucking delusional,” Jake huffed. “I just wanted to make sure you couldn’t go anywhere.”

To what end? He didn’t know. Partially it was because he was without his knife now, and the worry of meeting Ji-woon in a trial as a survivor again had been creeping up his spine. He knew this might not do much. If the Entity wanted him for a trial, it would just take him, regardless of what Jake did to try and prevent it. But maybe he hoped it would work differently in this strange alien environment.

He took another step back as the branch creaked slightly, hitting back against a flesh-textured object. Was it moving?

"Make sure I didn't go anywhere??" The Trickster's tone was all Himbo Obliviousness. Kenergy, even. But he knew enough to know Jake didn't like him. A hand went up to the collar to investigate and it was heavy metal, not something his knives could cut through. The chain was thick, something more for industrial use. He presumed Jake must have raided Evan's supplies for these, they certainly were meant to keep something or someone in place. And following the chain, it was driven by a stake deep into a standard tree nearby. (He didn't know what kind, who even CARES about trees that much to know what kind? Not him.)

"Jaaaake~♡" He crooned, with a little more malice in his tone, a little more tightness to his lips. "Baby~♡ Sweetheart~♡ You aren't thinking of leaving me alone out here~☆?? Anything could happen by...." He even put a little pout at the end, even though it was a lie. He didn't care about other things coming by, it was the isolation that worried him more. There NOT being anyone was worse than any of the monsters out in the Fog.

"Jake, you're so funny~♡" His pitch dropped from singsong and light to deeper and more deadly serious, reaching for his knives. "Come back here right now."

Jake glared at him as Ji-woon drew his knives. “Or what?” he asked, daring the killer to run him off with a volley of knives. “I kinda like the view better over here.”

The power shift was definitely addicting, but there was the issue of what would happen if he did leave. The Trickster was absolutely one to hold a grudge, and Jake already didn’t like his chances of meeting him again in a trial.

Still, maybe it would be worth it. Just the satisfaction of knowing how pissed off he was, alone in an alien realm with nobody to listen to his incessant whining. Maybe that would be worth whatever the killer would do to him after…

As he debated this in his head, Jake didn’t notice the fleshy plant moving against his back, slowly but surely turning to grab him.
