Hi! Sorry for dropping off the face of the earth, I went back to college to study archaeology but I promise I'm still writing! I started a new draft after scrapping everything and starting over from scratch, and I am much more confident in the direction this story is going than I did before :)

Camp NaNoWriMo April 2023

This month I will once again be participating in Camp NaNoWriMo! I’ll be continuing work on my dark fantasy series which features:

👑 enemies to friends to lovers slow burn between a trans prince and his bodyguard 💀 eldritch horror and nature gods ⚔️ dark fantasy / steampunk vibes & aesthetics 🩸 fated soulmates 🖤 mutual pining

Word Count Goal: 15k

My overall goal this Camp Nano is just to get back into the habit of writing, which I’ve neglected since last November. This month I’ll be working specifically on outlining the entire series, finishing up world building, and doing some chapter edits if I have time!

I’ll update this post as the month goes on with progress updates :)

NaNoWriMo Update: Hit 20k last night! I was hoping to get more writing done at work today but it was unbelievably busy so I’ll have to start writing when I get home instead. Currently thanking past me for having the foresight to write a little extra yesterday so my workload wouldn’t be as big today lol

NaNoWriMo 2022 Progress

Still on track to completing 100k for NaNo! So far the prologue and three chapters have been written, totaling at about 14k. I should reach 15k, maybe more by the end of the day!

NaNoWriMo 2022 Plans

It’s been a minute since I’ve posted, mostly because I keep forgetting that I have this blog in the first place. But I’m going to make a conscious effort to post more!

First, updates on how writing is going! During Camp NaNoWriMo April and July, I managed to complete an entire rough draft for Bloodspeaker. The first draft currently sits at around 70k, and is 20 chapters long, including a prologue and an epilogue.

My hope for NaNoWriMo this year is to work on revising and editing. I am currently working on some finer world building details, and drafting some scene ideas to add to the story. Ideally, I would like the final draft to be near 100k words, possibly more. So the real challenge this year will be to write double the traditional word count for NaNo. I believe it will be feasible, I just have to do my prep work, stay on top of my word count, and pace myself!

Once the edited draft is done, I’ll go over it again for final edits, and then its off to the publishing stage!

Lucien: Rosalina. Purely for the aesthetics.

Gweneviere: Princess Peach. Also for the aesthetics.

Trevor: King Boo. They’re just a real big King Boo fan.

Anne: Yoshi. She just thinks he’s neat :)

Jeeves: Toad.
