Blood Ties
Emma was beautiful. Of course, when one turned, they became extraordinarily so. It was part of the allure, she supposed. What drew humans to vampires, ultimately fating them to death, whilst vampires were able to feed. She knew that her little swan was gorgeous before, but now, knowing that she was hers in all of her beauty and glory. Well, it made her appear to be the most stunning creature she had ever laid eyes on.
“Come,” Regina held out her hand and beckoned her progeny forward. She was completely drawn and captivated by the sight of her beautiful Emma, emerging from death for what would be the first and last time. She had reached her forever. The eternity that they were fated to spend together was now in reach.
“My darling,” she practically cooed as she took Emma into her arms, holding her close and rubbing her back in soothing little circles. “I’m sure you’re famished. I haven’t eaten in days, as well. We both need to feed soon. I’ll teach you. It’s actually quite easy, you know. Mostly instinct.”
Pressing her lips against Emma’s forehead, she encouraged her further. “Can you hear that? The pulsing sound in the distance.” She gestured to the wooded clearing. “Go. Claim your hunt, my love.”
Still hazy, Emma blinked through her newfound vision, remembering a certain ache in her stomach but unsure why. It was gone now, touching her abdomen made sure of that. Everything felt heightened: touch, smell, sight. The trees of green seemed brighter, the chirping of the crickets right beside her ears. It all just seemed... advanced, beyond any normal human comprehension.
“Regina?” Settled against her body, she swallowed, tasting a need for, not a sip of water, but something more metallic. Covered in dirt and blood, flashes of her past life came back to her slowly. Fire. Screaming. Pain. A battle, she recalled, but her memory ended there. “I don’t know what’s happening to me.”
Then, before she had a chance to speak further, her eyes darkened and she moved at a speed too quick for the human eye. A long male traveling stared at her with eyes wide in fear. Unable to control herself, she felt incisors descend from her gums and she pounced. Fangs digging into his neck as he screamed in pain, the warm blood met her lips with a thirst that couldn’t be quenched. It took only a second, then his body smacked to the floor. Drained.
Stumbling back and feeling the warm snakes of blood travel down her mouth and into her cleavage, she felt herself collide with a thick tree trunk. The body laid before her; the man was dead. “What have I done...”
