You were resting on Risotto’s chest, his hand running through your hair.
“I know it is unsuitable for me as a leader to say this,” Risotto began, “But were always my favorite, with our numbers dwindling, our comrades dying.”
“It’s more important now than ever that I tell you this,”
“I love you, I always have, and I always will,”
He leaned down and gave you a gentle kiss, “No matter what we may face in the coming days, I have no fear knowing we will be facing it together.”
“But enough doom and gloom,” He said, caressing your cheek,
“Tonight, is just for us, a final moment of calm before we charge into the storm.”
He shifted himself on top of you, holding both of your hands with his, kissing you deeply.
Tonight was for the both of you, leaving all the worry behind, everything outside of your bed didn’t matter right now.
All that mattered now was you, and Risotto
