the narrowing of his gaze cut deeper at his subtle loss in traction as they strolled "leisurely" through the streets. after a couple near attempts to drag the pair into the depressing heap of slowl melting slush, kagan did his best to force the deceivingly strong pile of fluff back on course. there was no chance in hell he was going to be made a fool of in front of her. "he is excitable," and lacks the basic understanding of sit, stay, and heel. "..nothing I can't handle. I wouldn't want you to twist your dainty ankles. Luckily, you chose a flat option today." Kagan hummed approvingly. as much as he enjoyed the length each inch of her heels provided to her legs, he couldn't help but feel the fret rising up between his ribs. kagan's hand patted hers gingerly to punctuate his feign confidence. if he wasn't careful, they'd all end up with soaked behinds and bruised egos. not that he would mind a little roll in the snow with her but his ego couldn't withstand the hemorrhage. "are you cold?" his curiosity piqued as she nestled in closer; a smitten grin blossomed of his lips. he didn't know when they had fallen into this domesticity but he wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth. kagan was far too content standing right here with her in the middle of his godforsaken town. "I never look grumpy, it's call being sophisticated and profoundly stoic, it's all the rage. work never ends but I'm entirely disappointed by the distraction."

"He's a puppy. Practically a baby." She adds onto his points. Aylin isn't even hiding the way her eyes are lit up in amusement, watching Kagan's attempt to control Biscuit. It was an easier task after she'd gone jogging or whatever else; but as of late the puppy had unfortunately not been able to traverse outside the town limits. A lack of time, really. So he's practically a dashing ball of energy. She'll have to poke in something in her schedule, maybe take him hiking. "A little bit." She isn't all that cold. But Aylin isn't entirely up to admitting that she just enjoys the mans proximity. His cologne a comforting smell that soothed any stress or annoyance. "Oh, is that so?" She looks up at him, eyes darting momentarily to his lips before they return to his eyes. "Kagan, I'm pretty sure some people in this town think you're incapable of smiling."

MAYBE THERE IS SOMETHING IN THE AIR. At least it feels that way to Aylin in this very moment. Her eyes narrow at Biscuit. The Saint Bernard seems very pleased with himself, eyes looking up at her from where he is laying on the ground. "You aren't winning this." She softly mumbles, like he'll somehow understand her. "Biscuit, baby, you are in the way." Aylin huffs after yet another failed attempt at getting the dog to get up. His spot would be great, if he wasn't in the middle of the damn road. "Sorry- he uh, has a mind of his own on this stuff. Feel free to just- step over him."

THIS DAY, CAN'T GET WORSE. Reed just stares at the sky from where he is on the ground. His hip aches, screaming of a unfamiliar pain from him falling right on his ass because of the ice. He makes a mental note to write a formal complaint to the city, to salt the damn streets better. Is it his fault for his unconventional path of the day? Absolutely, but still! "Don't." He speaks up when someone steps over. "I'm fine. Just- I live here now. On the ground. Forever." At least his dead ego won't be further kicked this way.
