Yuletide reveals
Hello everyone,
Seeing as we are nearing the end of January, I thought I would finally do a little round-up of everything I got/wrote for Yuletide.
First, I received the most wonderful Yuletide story:
Eminent Edwardians (Bloomsbury Group) from disenchanted (@prancy here on tumblr)
Bloomsbury bloomsberries bloomsbuggering.
It was written in response to my prompt on the Bloomsbury Group and it is just the best.Bloomsbury.story.ever. I wanted to know all about the groupâs emotional life and sexual escapades and I got so much more than that. The title says it all, really 8). I have a suspicion that Allen aka prancy is actually an Edwardian time travelling spy in disguise. He already wrote my gift last year, and it was also fantastic. Go go read them!
Then (or, I should say, simultaneously), I wrote two fics:
Conscience and Cowardice (The Picture of Dorian Gray) for mikkey_bones.
Lord Henry always had his favourites.
+ a Yuletide treat I managed to squeeze in before the deadline and that was posted in the New Yearâs Resolutions collection because of a technical problem. Whoops.
Stone in Time (Piazze d'Italia - Giorgio de Chirico) for faceofstone.
Both of them mean a lot to me and were a pleasure and a challenge to write. I am not quite sure what to write about them, or how to describe my process writing them, or even if I really want to, since they somehow feel so personal to me. Re-reading them now, I am struck by how much they reflect (though obliquely so) some of what I felt at the time and how I experienced, internalised and processed a lot of what was going on around me.
So, happy reading I guess! :)
