"I'm known as the Ranger, but you can call me either Sasha or Andy. I'm behind the training of the animals and guarding the greenery of Mann Co."

"I'm pretty good at surviving, myself yeah, but I also make sure the other mercenaries do. I often do it with the help of animals. I'm pretty good at defending things so I don't doubt that I can come in handy."

"Now, that part is over with, let me set some ground rules."

~ A new mercenary was recently hired for BLU. You have heard that they apparently are in charge of the newly built animal training centre (or what is known as a sanctuary by the other mercs). You're curious, so you decide to see what's going on. You enter, only to be greeted by some curious german shepherd pups.

"Mikko, Borya, come."

~ The mercenary would let out a whistle, the two pups would return to their cages. He would have a pigeon on his shoulder.

"Apologies. Welcome. Next time before you come in, be careful to not startle the animals. Now, who may you be?"

[The German silently stared at the new mercenary. His pupils narrowed. He looked the man over as if scanning him with his eyes. There was a chill emanating from the German, along with something else that might cause alarm or discomfort. At the very least, the dogs sensed it and fell silent. Finally, after a minute of silence, the doctor spoke]

— I wanted to let you know that our whole team has a medical examination next week. Don't forget to come.

And bring your documents with you. They're needed too. You're the new one, aren't you? Or not. Mann Co resorts to cloning too often, so don't be offended if I forget who you are from time to time

[Medic tried to smile, but it came out very awkwardly. He waited for an answer from the newcomer]

He pulls a spy crab out of a small portable terrarium. It's blue, with big sparkly eyes and a small yellow hat with a daisy on it

His name is Florin.... He likes kippersnacks....

"Oh да, of course! Come on in. Such a sweet little creature. You can trust me with looking after him. Any needs I need to know about?"

~ As the mercenary spoke, he gestured for Hunter to enter. A pigeon flew and landed in front of Florin, curious.

"Don't mind him. That's Nikko."

│. ₊˚.❝ ☎︎ ❞₊˚✧ ﾟ Journalist was less than inconvenienced by the sudden “attack” by the puppies. It's been a long way since he saw an animal who wasn't a pigeon or mutant bread. He looked over at the one responsible for the whistle; the one he was here for. He prepared his notebook and extended his hand for a handshake.

“ Of course, apologies for the intrusion! My name's Javier, I'm a, so far, unaffiliated Journalist. I'm here to document both the war and the people fighting it. It's been a second since BLU got new recruits! Would you mind talking me through your job here? ”

"Ah, да, right. Of course! Nice to meet you, Javier. I'm the Ranger. You can call me Sasha or Andy. Either of the two work."

~ The mercenary shook the journalist's hand firmly.

"This place is what the others call the sanctuary. My main job here is to train animals, specifically dogs for the battleground. I also come in handy there as I can defend pretty well with strategy and combat. Mann Co. had the idea of somewhat including animals within the Gravel War. I honestly don't understand it, but at least I got promised that I could do some more animal research here."

It seemed incredible to him that such babies would be trained for a war. He nodded along after Ranger mentioned Mann Co. deciding to include animals in the gravel wars'. He had no clue why they would want animals to be in the line of fire either, but oh well. That's what a monopoly will get you.

“ Pleasure is all mine, Sasha. So.., training dogs? You're the first of a kind around these parts. I'm assuming those two puppies are being conditioned early. Must be quite the training, too, with all of the distractions battle grounds have. ”

"Yes indeed. Training puppies can be quite the handful job, but is no issue for me. I've been dealing with animals through my whole 28 years of living. I trained wolfdogs as a child back when I lived in the Soviet Union. They were huge!"

~ Ranger would gesture the size of the dogs as he spoke, chuckling. He appears to have some experience despite his young considerable age.

“ Wolfdogs! They really hired the best there was, didn't they? I imagine fully dog puppies are much more tame than Wolfdogs. They listen to you as well, look at them both in their cages! They are pretty cute, I must say. ”

He can't imagine a world where someone without passion about such creatures would willingly spend time taming them. But then again, he never had much contact with animals.

“ What about the birdie on your shoulder? I hope I'm not confusing species, but isn't that a dove? ”

"Eh, that's a pigeon. Understandable you think he is though. Pigeons and Doves are very similar. This is my boy Nikko!"

~ Ranger would then pet Nikko. The pigeon let out really raspy coos. He would then fly off onto Journalist's shoulder.

"He is really friendly."
