I'm the first to admit that I have strange taste in airsoft replicas.

There is only one person that I skirmish with regularly that owns a revolver. A single action army that he bought for a wild West themed game day (the highlight of which was, apparently, the refs duelling at noon just before the lunch break) and he has only brought it to one regular session.

I went and played with my Mateba 2006M, just a short skirmish in the afternoon because they just rearranged their indoor arena space.

I brought a couple speed loaders and a fanny pack (bum bag for the Brits out there) to use as a dump pouch but maintain something approximating a cool late 80s early 90s PI. Which falls into the category of "the type of kit I wish more people did". The Mateba is surprisingly loud and I am pretty sure one of the kids I got out called a hit when I shot the guy in front of him.

Everyone thought that my Mateba is very cool, all of them said that they should try to do cool stuff like this.

None of them will. Because why do something goofy like this and walk into every firefight outgunned? I get it, if I was wanting to win more than I want to be goofy and have fun I would run a GAU-5A or an M-4 carbine with a knock off acog.

But I get so much enjoyment out of running around in jeans, a T-shirt, Hawaiian shirt, and fanny pack (bum bag to some of you) with a cool revolver pretending to be a private investigator.

I ordered speed loaders for two of my revolvers (no such thing for the Single Action Army) and I discovered that the speed loader that I used to prefer when I carried a real steel revolver has been discontinued and I cannot find even used ones. It turns out that the company that made them went defunct in the 80s. They had heavy heat treated steel barrel with a sprung cone and rubber ring as a locking mechanism. They were fantastic and I regret selling them with the revolver.

Since the weather is nice I might try to get to an outdoor airsoft field this weekend.

Unfortunately my old standby is no more, so I have been looking for a new one. And, uh, I found one that has bible passages on their webbed site and says that they start every game with a mandatory prayer. They're open Sundays following a service in their open air chapel sanctuary. The vibes are not passing the check.

So that is one field I can avoid.

I want one of these for my Weeaboomer 1911. It would be only slightly less ungainly than a drum mag and probably hold about 50 rounds.

I finally got to go shoot my friends with little plastic bbs again this afternoon. (No pictures because the place we go doesn't allow photos or videos, it's a long and stupid story.) And I got to mess with an old Beretta M9 aep, I've never messed with an aep and it was interesting.

Even with airsoft I am accustomed to some level of recoil but this thing was totally still apart from the shaking of my hands. The trigger was atrocious though, spongy and long despite really only needing to actuate a relatively short throw switch. The death knell for it was unfortunately that it threw .25 bbs at just under 170 fps, with a maximum reliable range of just over 15 feet. On a CQB field that limited power isn't much of a hang up, but I think I hit maybe one person in the three short matches I ran with it.

It sucks and isn't a viable option for play. And that is coming from a dude who plays with a revolver and no speed loaders.

He had a blast with the Beretta 950 Jetfire that I use as a secondary, which is no surprise because it is a fantastic little thing.

I have been informed that the Beretta M9 AEP is meant to run .12s. I have also been informed that it doesn't matter.

I'm going to be going airsoftng again soon so I was dusting off the old gear and I think I have at least three potential rigs I can run.

1. The concealed carry CZ

A CZ-75 in a shoulder holster with a pair of magazines at the small of my back. This is my favorite at the moment and the setup I have run the most.

2. The Weeaboomer Special

I've replaced the old Leather tanker holster with a hard side belt holster, and I carry the spare magazines on my left hip. I have never fielded this pistol, but last time I played I lent it to a friend.

3. The Old Man

It is literally just a Smith & Wesson M10 in a belt holster. It is inarguably the worst of the three, especially since I don't have any speed loaders for the spare cartridges. I do love running a revolver, though.

I traded a replica Colt SAA for a Beretta M93r, and goddamn I forgot how fuggin beefy this thing is. Look at it compared to my CZ-75! Which is a decent full frame pistol.

I might have some money coming my way, not a ton, but some. And I have had an itch for another dumb airsoft gun.

Not just any dumb airsoft gun. An SVT-40.

Why? Because I have a real-steel SVT-40 and I like it. I want to make a review video where I compare two SVT-40s, not mentioning that one of them is real until the shooting test at the end.

"Alright, this one perfoms pretty well, let's compare this Russian made one!" BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! "I'd say that this one is a totally different beast to shoot!"

I got two set of spare shells for it and I am going to find a couple speed loaders that will work with it. I am also planning on making a shoulder rig that will carry it under my left shoulder and the speed loaders under my right for games.

It's genuinely kinda funny how small the M10 feels in my hand. I am so used to the Mateba (an absolute unit) and full size service sidearms like the 1911 and CZ-75.
