beau: nb lesbian. she wasn’t the boy her parents wanted but she also isn’t entirely a woman either. she takes fantasy estrogen to be softer but she doesn’t plan on transitioning any further

caleb: bisexual trans man. he’s been on fantasy T on and off throughout his life and he really enjoys being a hairy motherfucker. truly a bush man. he has mixed feelings about his chest bc man wouldn’t it be cool to be flat w/o magic or binders but ugh... surgery is such a Thing. he discovered his bisexuality obv very young

veth: cishet woman. here’s the thing about veth: YES she’s cishet but she’s explored her feelings on both her gender and sexuality (including being often misgendered as a goblin, which only made her more sure in her womanhood) and is confident now more than ever in her identity. she’s their one straight friend but she’s cool

jester: pansexual trans woman. jester knew she was a girl as soon as she knew what a girl was so transitioned at a very young age. she passes extremely well. she loves everyone

molly: bisexual genderfluid. molly doesn’t know all the extensive labels for things so he’s just bi, use whatever pronouns, he won’t correct you. i legitimately don’t have a set headcanon for his body type i just go with whatever. he’s got a fat ass though

yasha: trans lesbian. yasha is all about loving women, women-aligned nb folks, and whatever mollymauk has going on

caduceus: aroace agender. caduceus is the void

@belbonnie two years ago, I drew fanart for your fanfiction. not only critical role has changed a lot, but also our lives. (I am assuming that on your end, but I mean, come on.)  I still think about that fanfiction sometimes, and it’s still one of the favorites I’ve read.  I hope that this December, you find some peace, and happiness. and I hope in the moments you can’t find it, you think back to the little ways in your life you have changed people’s lives. Like being in people’s fond memories, or brightening someone’s late night, <3 <3 <3 happy holidays

oh god. how do they not see it. fjord is literally the gentleman and jester is her mom. how do they not. man from the sea loves woman who is whimsical and sees magic in the world thru her wisdom, but man can never grow past his need for self-edification and spends rest of his life unmoored and wander lusting. man seeks to protect woman because of her sadness and does not see strength, but fragility in that. man distances self and shares little bits here and there, but ultimately his work and his adventure will always take precedence. how do they not see the bitter irony of this. how. mother to eldest daughter/generational trauma is real guys.

hot take: the only actual edgy/emo character in Critical Role is Lord Percival Fredrickstein von Musel Klossowski de Rolo III of Whitestone, whose very existence was used by Taliesin to critique the archetype. Vax's "edgy and emo" side was actually his grappling with depression and dismisses a large part of his actual character, and Caleb's "edgy and emo" side is actually his trauma, and reducing them to "sadboy" is frankly insulting

I don't hate Caleb because he's autistic or suffering from ptsd. It's because he acts weird and is so self-centered that he thinks the high wizard that personally abused, groomed, and manipulated him into killing his own parents would ever have a vested interest in hunting him down after he escaped the asylum said wizard put him in. Have you heard the way he talks? He's obviously Up To Something. His behavior is very antisocial and the fact that he doesn't make eye contact means he is lying. He only ever talks about magic and books, and talks over people. The fact that all of these traits just happen to line up with neurodivergent behavior is just a coincidence. Also Liam confirmed that Caleb has a crush on Jester and Astrid so obviously he is cishet. :) unfortunately eadwulf and essek were just his friends.

this is the nail on the head. so many of these people are convinced they aren’t being problematic because they would never tell a REAL ND PERSON these things, but still thinks its okay to shit all over the character with real nd person traits :/ the self reflection is in superhell
