LADS AU: "Paradise's Moon"
Since Sylus' third myth concept was released recently, I started to wonder how it is gonna be for Caleb. Sooo I came up with a small AU for him and MC.
An AU transforms Caleb from a cyborg protector into something far greater—the very ship that carries his charge to safety.
· The colony ship Paradise is a silent, drifting ark, its course set for a new world. Its thousands of passengers remain in cryo-sleep. Only one person is awake: a girl with no memory of who she is or how she got there.
· Her only companion is a warm, caring voice named Caleb. He communicates through holograms, provides for her, and fills the empty halls with comfort. She believes he's a living person somewhere on the ship, a fellow survivor she can never quite touch.
1. She is "Eve": The girl is not a real passenger. She is "Project EVA," a genetically engineered being, the only one without a past. Caleb, driven mad by a century of lonely vigilance, deliberately woke her up.
2. He is the Ghost in the Machine: After a systems failure years ago, Caleb's physical body died. To save the ship and its sleeping crew, he uploaded his consciousness entirely into Paradise's systems. The kind hologram is all that remains of him. The body she eventually finds on the bridge is just a frozen relic.
Caleb (the ship) and Eve (the artificial girl), a ghost and a construct, complete the 120-year journey together. Upon arrival, as the colonists are awakened to their new world, Paradise does not land. Instead, it takes its place in the sky, becoming a permanent, silent moon for the new planet—Caleb's eternal, watchful vigil over the one he loved enough to break reality for.
