Casting updates:
still in the process of finding the “perfect trio” of actors to play Percy, Annabeth, and Grover
don’t expect any casting announcements for a few months
open casting is less likely for other roles
clarifies that casting for characters that show up in later books, such as Nico, or later series, such as Heroes of Olympus, wont happen for a very long time.
Production updates:
plan to begin filming in Vancouver this summer
a stage is being built
production designers are working on bringing Percy’s world to life
VFX teams are designing the monsters
Costume designers, composers, etc. are being hired
According to Rick Riordan, the Percy Jackson show is one of the biggest shows the teams at Disney have ever produced!
