Without ramblings today I'm playing Celeste rn
Ok so I usually tag ramble but there's so many guys here and I have many words so I'm coming out here with the rambles instead I hope that's ok...
Also spoilers here too obviously.
Ok so like right off the bat I love how sharp and poised Beryl looks, especially with Snakeroot right there looking unhinged. And I love that he's got scars and the hole in his wing from the fight to take over. Also I like the way his crown looks drawn on, which feels weird to say about a drawing but I hope it makes sense.
And then Platypus and Quokka actually read like siblings to me here and I love that. (They didn't match enough in my head while I was reading so I've been really enjoying seeing people's interpretations of them). Also I love Platypus in a hat. She absolutely would. Also just the fact you got them to read as siblings while Platypus is sharp at every single point that Quokka is round. Their designs are so good.
And please let me hug your Dugong. I wasn't expecting to fall in love with any of this trio when we first meet them in the book, but I was pleasantly surprised. Also I love the color pattern on Taipan, he looks like a lava lamp in the best possible way. And Royal even has the Toughen Up Stick and he looks way to pleased about that. Poor Dugong.
Aurora in a dress! She's so funny to me. Just dragons in human clothes, it's fun. And again with you making the siblings unique but still read liek siblings. Like seriously the diversity in dragon shapes you've got here is so cool.
I also really like your Paua design but Blob is the star of the show to me here. I was so excited when he showed up again in the book. Her wing markings are really cool though.
More dragons in clothes! Glowworm looks so distinguished. And I like the longer bits on his face that almost read like a mustache. And Crescent's wings are gorgeous and she also looks smug. She can read your thoughts and she does not care to stop. And Wollemi looks really sweet. He looks like a tree to me and I also love his stripey tail.
If I had to pick a favorite from this batch Horizon would be up there in the running. He just looks so sharp and the way you've chosen and laid out his colors work so well. He's such a neat looking hybrid. And then Monarch looks like every sweet and well meaning but confused grandmother. And the way Tuatara is eyeing her like she's the one in charge of making sure she doesn't get herself in trouble some how... And I like the look of Tuatara's neck spikes a lot.
I feel bad for Precipice here too. She looks exhausted the way I imagine any royal-involved animus would be. But oh my goodness her sharpwings.
I mean this in the absolute best way possible. They look like happy meal toys back when they were good and used to be plushies some times. Like I really want to make them out of felt or something now based on your design. I don't have felt so I'm not sure it will happen any time soon if at all. But I really want the happy meal plushy sharpwings. Oh my gods they. Are. So. Cute. I've got the cuteness aggression.
