Question.
Out of curiosity, what are all the names of Bads mini me?
pomme dapper and bad are playing paintball in forever’s base and it’s the cutest thing ever
c!bad my little gaslighter <3 i love you
Foolish isn’t capable of killing anyone, his PvP skills are pretty shoddy. it’s a toss up who’s the worst PvPer on the server him or Karl
twitter recommended me a tweet with almost 3k likes that was just like "skeppy doesnt know what the muffin music video is what if it's a confession" like mf????? maybe let content creators do ONE THING for a project they're proud of without instantly going "they're going to meetup/confess their love" and i've noticed Bad and Skeppy are victims of that specifically. Skeppy even mentioned that every time he announces he has a project coming up or something he's been working on, everyone just spams "MEETUP???" and then he feels bad and like he's disappointing his audience. i'm all for casual flirting among friends but when fans embrace it to the point where they refuse to see content creators as individuals and only value their content/projects in the light of "how much shipping material am i going to see from this" it gets very, very disappointing to witness and it's tough for the ccs as well.
To put a worm in your ear The Egg is like a discount Aaravos from the The Dragon Prince. Here's compilation of some of Aaravos's lines in the show.
To me they're fairly similar in nature thou Aaravos is way better at delivering his promises then the egg ever was. To be clear I'm not saying that the Egg should look like Aaravos just saying that it's lines are rather similar to Aaravos's lines and thought process. But if the Egg did look like that the omelette supporters would’ve have a few less members so it was a good thing that the Egg did not look like Aaravos.
Yes, Badboyhalo was possessed during the egg arc, but that doesn't mean he's a morally sound person outside of the egg's influence. He's nice to people (sometimes) but that doesn't mean he's good.
When he was completely free from the Egg's influence, he had to get convinced multiple times by Antfrost that murdering Eret would do nothing to heal Skeppy. He was faced with the option that killing his best friend might make him better, and he immediately wanted to go with the third choice which was killing someone completely random and unconnected to what was going on.
It's a pattern. Bad attempts to ignore the consequences of his actions and how they affect people. Antfrost pointed this out to him in the light of him trying to completely move on and gloss over what he did under the Crimson's control.
Bad chose the Egg. He was influenced, yes, but he always had more of a grasp on the cause of his actions than other did. He fully decided to commit to the Egg's control because he chose to believe that he could ignore the people he hurt in pursuit of regaining his best friend.
Bad was never a force for good. He wants power to protect the few he cares about. Everyone and everything else he's willing to ignore.
You should find examples outside of the entire egg arc, the one you are using doesn't properly showcase what you mean, the Egg has Skeppy, Bad wants Skeppy back therefore it's still influencing Bad's actions. One of the best examples of Bad's sliding scale of morality is the switching sides plan during the Manburg vs Pogtopia war for the sake of chaos and so the Badlands can maintain their bit of power and then hosting a funeral for JSlatt when everyone would’ve left him in the hypothetical ditch. Plus Bad has more bark than bite he does a lot of threatening but does not follow through with the threats ie has threatened to burn the disks several times and has never followed through.
As for the Red Banquet aftermath, Ant and Puffy basically took responsibility for their actions during the Red Banquet but threw all the blame on Bad, “This only happened cause you (Bad) could not keep your act together and went back to the Egg”. Never mind the fact that Bad was still reeling over losing Skeppy to the Egg basically going through the 5 stages of grief and becoming even more venerable to the Egg’s manipulation when both Ant and Puffy fail to understand Bad’s grief and help him work his way through it in a healthy manner. Ant could’ve followed Puffy’s example and went against the Egg but he had chosen to make Bad his moral compass for everything he does so he too went with the Egg despite the fact that Bad wasn’t in any position to make any sound decisions for himself much less for Ant at that time. This is Ant’s character flaw he has a followers mentally where he blindly follows a leader that suits his way of thinking up until they end up hurting him so he switches to the next leading figure to blindly follow that makes him feel better about himself. Puffy’s character flaw is her black and white worldview and her eye for an eye hero complex tendency when other’s continue to do wrong in her eyes. She first saw Bad as a good guy ignoring his grey morality but the moment he started following the Egg again she dump him into the black category and refused to comprehend or understand why he would make that decision. She thought that Bad didn’t need support when he lost Skeppy because he’s an adult and therefore fine, Bad paid the price for her arrogance and she is blind to her role in his fall.
It goes to show how complex their story is, whether or not you enjoy it a lot of thought been placed in making it work.
/Roleplay
So, Ant’s lore has started to give perspective on Bad’s character, and I found it very interesting.
We all know that Bad and Ant were bad people in their time under the Egg’s influence. Ant feels horrible about what he did, but Bad not as much so. But, the question I have is: Was Bad a good person before the Eggpire. Yes, he did good things on the server; he was kind to his friends, but I feel like there’s more to look at.
Bad was one of the original members of the Dream SMP. During the L’Manberg war for independence, he remained neutral, and he continued to do so with other major conflicts. That was until the Battle of the Lake, where he joined sides with Sapnap against Tommy to get revenge. He was also a part of the Second Pet War. Not to mention his involvement in the Disc War with having once processed Tommy’s Cat.
Bad’s true colors seemed to show right after the Manberg vs. Pogtopia war when the Bad Lands was recognized as an official faction by Dream. The faction’s stance on things was to remain neutral, stir chaos, and take power when there was a gap. Bad’s intentions weren’t all that great even before the Eggpire. Just like everyone else, he wanted power.
Now, after the time of the Eggpire, relationships are strained. Bad is still holding onto the promises the egg made, even if just a bit. He ‘Didn’t carry out the eggs plan’ so he didn’t get what he wanted. It’s not that the egg was full of shit, something Ant seems to realize. Bad is pinning the blame on the egg and Ant, rather them himself. The egg did push Bad to make many of the horrible decisions, but he’s still guilty to some extent.
I don’t hate him, by any means. An imperfect character is a far more interesting and enjoyable one if you ask me. Bad has flaws, and perhaps now that the Eggpire is over and done, at least for now, more people will start to see those flaws for what they are.
Just gonna leave this here cause @sweetsmalldog is better at using words than I am.
PUFFY IS TRYING TO TURN ANT AGAINST BAD SAYING THAT BAD ALWAYS USES ANT AND SAYING THAT HE’S THE REASON SHE KILLED ANT. PUFFY DOESN’T HATE THE EGGPIRE. SHE HATES BAD.
I’ve watched the clip and yeah C!Bad did owe Ant an apology but what also struck me is that even now Bad can’t escape this idea that he has to conform to what everyone else wants. He’s not allowed to come to terms with things on his own time, he’s not allowed to do things in his own order, he’s not allowed to not be immediately emotionally ready and perfect. Bad has to be what everyone else wants all of the time. He’s not allowed to just not be ready. Bad’s friends all demand that he’s perfect. And with friends like those who needs enemies?
here’s a thing i’ve been working on for around 2 months
@bluestarsapphire hi thank you for the criticism, i’m not quite sure i understand? in this animation bbh has the proper amount of joints. my design is unguligrade so he walks on his toes (though i tend to draw it akin to a digitigrade leg for simplicity as they are quite similar.) i tend to draw the knee lower than an animal that walks on all fours because it’s better for bipedal characters, which might be where the confusion is coming from, here:
My bad I worded that completely wrong. What I meant that the leg posture looks off because you lengthened the femur when you possibly didn't need to. The angle of your design made me think he's "sickle hocked" a term used when a quad animals hind leg does not line up when you draw a straight line from the hip to the foot and the hock joint and the pastern don't line up to the line. An animal reference I would’ve used would’ve been a large bird like a emu or a moa for an example. While a sickle hocked bad is a realistic thing it would hamper smooth movement that doesn’t help an animals longevity and end up going lame in the long run. Hopefully this showed you my thought process I’m rather bad at expressing my thoughts. Also here’s an dinosaur walking/running animation that i found usefull
Difference of Perception
The way c!Puffy and Quackity view Bad are two sides of the same coin. Puffy believes Bad has complete agency while Quackity believes he has none. And neither are correct. Puffy holds Bad accountable for everything, that he’s totally aware of what he’s doing and that he’s stable while he does it, that nothing is wrong with him he’s just become power hungry. While Quackity sees Bad as this pinnacle of good who’s been dragged down and doesn’t know what he’s doing. And in that Puffy denies any evidence of Bad’s possession and Quackity denies Bad any form of agency. Puffy sees Bad as someone who must be stopped while Quackity sees Bad as someone to be saved.
Puffy sees Bad as someone who’s lost his humanity while Quakity sees Bad as to naïve to really understand what he’s doing. Puffy for all her flaws treats Bad like an adult making his own choices, Quackity doesn’t. Quackity talks down to Bad. Puffy doesn’t, she’s just disgusted. While Puffy sees Bad as irredeemable Quackity sees Bad as a victim who needs to be protected and needs to understand where he went wrong. Puffy doesn’t think there’s anything left to redeem while Quackity doesn’t think Bad even needs redemption because that would mean Quackity does as well.
Sorry Punz, but the Hunters won
hi!! so after witnessing the debate about who won the most recent manhunt, I decided to go back and watch every single episode of Minecraft manhunt to determine who the winner should be, based on previous rules and gameplay. have at it, ig
Thank you
If you are discounting the hunters win because it was a bit glitchy and probably shouldn't have technically worked then you should also be mad about when Dream forced the hunters in the second 4v1 to lose all their op armour by trapping them on the roof of the nether because that was purposefully exploiting a massive glitch.
We let him away with it because it was smart as fuck. The hunters played well this time and won fair and square.
To everyone complaining about Dream not winning I just want you to take a second to think how impressive it is that he did almost win with 5 people chasing after him, one of which he never went against in a manhunt. Y’all act as if this was the 100k duel with Techno....
Also congratulations Hunters you guys work hard to win and you use techniques in the game that most people don’t even know about, you deserve every bit of your victory :)
I think we can rule Punz out as 5th Hunter.
He was talking about MCC and said the minute he finds out about when it's back he's going to go back to speedrunning and practising general Minecraft because he hasn't in a while.
The other day he said last time he was on Minecraft (minus lore) was to Speedrun. So putting that together he hasn't been on Minecraft in a while so probably hasn't done the Manhunt leaving Sam and Callahan as potential hunters.
(People seem to think it could be Techno, Quackity or Karl however Techno and Dream agreed if Techno was doing one it would be a 1v1 and Dream said if he had a Feral boys Manhunt it'd not be a main channel video. He also wanted Manhunt to be purely MunchyMC and PreDreamSMP friends)
I feel it’s important to remember that c!Quackity is drawing more parallels between himself and Bad then there are. Quackity is drawing parallels that aren’t there because he’s projecting his own trauma and ideals onto Bad. Quackity both idolizes Bad as the one “genuine” person left in his life and almost talks down to Bad because he thinks he knows what’s best for Bad without listening to him.
Oh thank God someone else notice it.
so overall, that was a very interesting lore stream, i'd say
what we got was essentially textual confirmation that bad had given everything up for skeppy [techno "for you the world" blade could never /lh /lh /lh]
but what really, really got me was how... aggressively crimson!skeppy was distancing himself from all that. atm, crimson!skeppy is goddamn obsessed with the egg. all he wants to do is be with it, and continue to tend to it- and when bad seems to align with these goals [eg. checking decorations, albeit legitimately, and checking the perimeter for safety]- then crimson!skeppy... lowkey gets less snappy.
their first cordial interaction was literally skeppy telling bad that "nobody has entered or left the premises. trust me." [at least, that was the way that i read it] but when bad starts focusing less on the egg and more on skeppy, and on how the egg might be affecting him negatively- downright treasonous thoughts, might i add- skeppy immediately pulls away.
this... feels like a punishment. and i'm torn between two potential readings of this situation. either, like i originally thought, the crimson has cottoned on that bad will literally raze the world for skeppy, and is currently pulling on his strings with it; or it's trying to burn their bridges. isolate them, and make them more reliant on it in turn- and this, honestly, is supported by skeppy aggressively pulling away and by the end result of bad smacking skeppy into the lava.
head full, many thoughts.
