Crashbox Lore: Dora Smarmy
I’m starting a series of posts in where I discuss the lore of each character in the world of Crashbox. Despite it being a variety type show, there is bits of character lore for most of the cast. And I’ll be starting out with the most fleshed out of all the characters, Dora Smarmy
The Canon Lore of Dora Smarmy:
She wears a wig (she’s also been seen bald during Season 2B)
She owns a dog named Roscoe who is very intelligent according to Dora
Her extended family consists of the following: Her mother, Grandma Rose, Uncle Ned, and Nephew Walter
Originally, she wanted to be a ballerina but opted to become an anchorperson because they had two left legs
Outside of Distraction News, she’s shown to be an actual news reporter. Her work consists of interviewing people and doing weather reports (or warning people about distressing weather) from what is shown during the segments in Smart Mouth
They’re shown to be somewhat of a bookworm
She’s shown to have a green thumb as she has her very own garden
Her best friend is Julia, whom she judged that one time because she stereotyped dogs and she helped her sort out her CDs
They have a co-worker anchorperson named Joan Winkleby who (according to the HBO Family wiki) is Dora’s rival
Her favorite food is bananas
She has a producer who tries to keep her on track during her job
They have shown to travel since she visited medieval castle, had a camping trip, and visited a ghost town
She once joined a marathon, but quit during the run
She once saw a play of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet
Once, they had a pile of junk mail in their mailbox (she also thought that she’d won a million dollars)
That’s all the lore bits I can get from Dora. Onto the characters with hard-to-decipher lore
