I’ve had terrible creative block since ICE came to my city but managed to sit down and cut paper for a while today. #papercollage #handcutcollage #collage #iceout
I’m calling this one “Cat Get Out of the Plant” based on real events. Paper collage and washi tape.
Most of the time I can’t draw. Yesterday I managed to draw Liam Ramos, who needs to come home now.
It’s been a hard week and I haven’t made art every day because having the city occupied is unbelievably stressful and extra for me with my particular trauma history, woot. So here’s a little street scene I managed to make a few days ago. Watercolor, paint marker, marker and pen on cold press watercolor paper.
Things are too much right now and I am out of tea but I managed to paint something so that’s cool. Sai watercolor markers and pen on hot press paper.
This was based on a totally normal photo of my friend and his partner’s cat. Watercolor and glitter paint marker on cold press watercolor paper.
I dig this little dancing demon person. Sai watercolor markers on hot press watercolor paper.
Lemons lemons lemons. Watercolor on hot press paper.
Today I learned that this thing is called a bromeliad. I was prepared to fully describe it visually and am relieved to have a shortcut. Pen, watercolor markers and gel pen on hot press paper.
Sometimes when I don’t know what to paint I check the bloomscrolling tag and bloomscroll until I find something. Watercolor markers, watercolor crayons and gouache on hot press paper.
Watercolor portrait of Matthew Rhys as Philip Jennings as “Jim” from late in season five. Watercolor and pen on hot press paper.
Yesterday’s art, the first use of a set of Sai watercolor brush markers. These are a really nice set that I got as a birthday gift, and extra bonus is that it’s a Japanese set and the color characters are largely the same as in Chinese, so I can read them! Truly my nerdery never ends. Watercolor markers and watercolor on hot press paper.
More cat more of the time. This is my portable Derwent watercolor set on hot press paper, not to be confused with mystery paper.
Cat in ink and watercolor on mystery paper. I’m almost through the little book of mystery paper, soon it will rest on my shelf. This is my grandma’s watercolor set with pilot iroshizuku ink in murasaki-shikibu, which is to say, fantastic glittery purple. I got a bunch of little tubes of fountain pen ink for my birthday and they’ve just been delightful, not that I am a cheap date for ink or anything, ahem.
Yesterday’s art is watercolor crayon and watercolor on mystery paper.
just my humble attempt at raging against the machine
i made a follow up! if this blows up, pls remember it is illegal to be mean to me. and i am a small artist you can give money to btw ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
the physical media depicted: lucky leaves by krill, worry by jeff rosenstock, self titled by babytooth. i love to tiny doodle album covers :)
Yesterday’s art is more rosy maple moth. Gouache and gel pen on mystery paper.
