One of the most recurring questions I get relates to a topic that I have struggled with at the beginning of my shifting journey.
"How do I balance out my current reality with my desired reality?"
"I'm always thinking about my desired reality, I don't want to be here, I want to shift so bad that I can't focus on my current reality.
My mind is always on my dr, I'm thinking about my significant other, my friends, my family, my school, my pets, to the point where I can't bring myself to live life here."
"I have to go to school or work, but I find myself thinking about shifting all the time. I don't know how to live because everything seems pointless as I am always constantly waiting for the shift."
It's draining, having to live a life that no longer interests you because all of your hopes and dreams and desires are related to another reality completely. It's a struggle, one that most shifters have experienced at one point in their journey. And the answer, as I have come to find out, is simpler than you could ever imagine.
You do not have to pick one over the other.
You don't have to stop living here just because you're waiting to shift to another reality.
It's a fundamental misunderstanding of the nature of shifting.
If infinite realities exist, and infinite versions of you exist in those infinite realities, and all of those infinite versions of you exist right now at the same time in all versions of reality, that means that all realities, all versions, all possibilities, are happening right now as we speak..
That was confusing. Walk with me.
Your current reality self and your desired reality self, or as I like to call them, your other self, both exist on the same plane of reality. The only separation is your awareness. It's like your perception. If you are looking ahead you're seeing what's in front of you, but if you turn around you see what's behind you and what's in front of you is no longer in your field of vision. If you're looking at your current reality, you can't see your desired reality self. But if you shift, you experience life as your desired reality self, and your current reality self is no longer in your field of vision.
Does that mean what's in front of you ceases to exist? Does that mean what's behind you only exists when you're looking at it?
Does your desired reality self stop existing the second you're no longer aware of them? Does your current reality self vanish into nothingness the second you shift?
Everything depends on your perception. Everything depends on your awareness.
So how do we balance all realities?
First, you have to take your desired reality self off the pedestal. Yes they're cool, yes they have superpowers, yes they're mystical creatures, yes they go to a magical school in a magical land with magical people, yes they're way cooler and they're way more talented and way more beautiful than your cr self, and that's precisely why they seem so unattainable. You treat your desired reality self as this deity that is so different and so much better than who you are in this reality right now to the point where you start to romanticize the shift and you stop existing as you are right now. And that is doing a huge disservice to who you are as a person in this reality because quite frankly my friend, there is nothing wrong with who you are as a person in here. Your current reality self deserves just as much love and as much respect and as much reverence as you save for your Dr self. And by wanting to escape that self every second of every day, neglecting your homework and your friends and your work and your family and your house and your body just because you are waiting for a moment where you will cease to exist as you are right now and become a totally different person, makes the shift a coping mechanism instead of a spiritual practice.
Shifting was never meant to be an escape, it is meant to be an experience to expand your awareness. It is the key to your existence as the universe. It is your superpower. It is not a tool for you to hate yourself and your reality and to Nitpick every little flaw wanting to change it or erase it or escape it.
You exist as all versions of yourself right now in this moment. The second you understand that, the second you accept your own power, you will realize that no version of yourself is less than the rest. You are no worse here than you are there. You are perfect in every reality because you are God in every reality.
I understand the desire to shift especially for people who haven't tried it yet. I understand the yearning and the pain and the sadness that comes with knowing that another reality so much more perfect than this one exists and yet you can dream it, you can think about it, but you haven't experienced it yet. But that yearning and pain and desire and sadness are exactly what's holding you back. Because you're treating shifting as an escape from hell when you were never in hell to begin with.
You can be great here. You can be an excellent student and an amazing friend and a perfect lover and a top employee, and you can shift. You can have it all. You can have a perfect existence across all realities. But you're too busy romanticizing another one to see the beauty in this one.
So what if your romanticize your CR a little bit?
(I want to add this little note to explain the exception to the rule. If you are a shifter who is experiencing abuse or chronic illness or mental illness or any debilitating factor that makes this reality a living hell, there is nothing wrong with wanting to shift. It is totally understandable that you see shifting as an escape because your experience in this reality hasn't been kind. Do not blame yourself, do not put yourself down, do not feel guilty for wanting a way out. Your experience is valid, your emotions are valid, and you have every right to want something different for yourself. I hope you're safe, and I hope you're well, and I hope but this reality becomes better for you just like your Dr. You are loved and your are worthy.)
