Charlotte Day Wilson - “Work” [Electro Soul/R&B] Da es hier ja für einen längeren Zeitraum still geworden war, gilt es zunächst einmal ein paar Sachen aus dem letzten Jahr aufzuarbeiten. Zum Beispiel diesen feinen Song der Kanadierin Charlotte Day Wilson.  “This song takes you on a journey, you are waiting for a drop, a climax, a peak and explosion but it never comes. The chord changes are just sublime. The vocal harmony is gorgeous. The beat and long synth holding it together is hauntingly simple. The Avalanches - “Because I'm Me” [Soul/Hip Hop] Wir starten unseren neuen Blog Blutradio mit einem tollen Video der Avalanches vom November letzten Jahres. Der Song “Because I’m Me” entspringt dem gefeierten Comeback Album WIldflower der beiden Australier Robbie Chater und Tony Di Bliasi. 16 Jahre hatten Fans auf die Neue LP warten müssen, bei „Because I’m Me“ verbindet das Duo aus Melbourne Soulbläser vom 70er-Hit „Want Ads“ mit den Texten des New Yorker Hip-Hop-Duos Camp Lo. Have a look & listen! “The Avalanches have a history of memorable videos, though they come as few and far between as their music — “Frontier Psychiatrist,” “Since I Left You” from their 2001 album, “Frankie Sinatra” and “Subways” from Wildflower — and today the Australian group has shared a great new one for joyous album opener “Because I’m Me.” It starts off with a young kid trying to impress an MTA booth attendant at a NYC subway stop, and he’s eventually joined by a bunch of horn players and dancers and Sonny Cheeba from Bronx hip-hop duo Camp Lo, who guest on the track. Boogie - “Bitter Raps” // “Oh My” [Hip Hop]

Oh My! Wo kommt denn dieser Boogie auf einmal her？Der Westcoast Rapper schickt sich mit seinem neuen Album The Reach an, dass neue grosse Ding aus LA zu werden. Einige von euch kennen ihn vielleicht schon von seinem letztem Mixtape The Thirst, von dem ich euch mal meinen Favoriten Bitter Raps rausgesucht habe. Die erste Videoauskoppelung vom im Sommer erscheinenden Debut Album klingt da nicht weniger vielversprechend. Aufjedenfall dranbleiben!

He can switch up the content and take it from an introspective subject matter to tracks like “Oh My” that are going to starting riots. SIA - Elastic Heart (BLVTH Remix) [Electronic]

Vor ein paar Tagen bin ich beim herumtreiben auf Facebook auf die Seite von Patrick Kowalski alias BLVTH gestoßen und hab dort seinen aktuellen Remix von Sia's Song Elastic Heart entdeckt (Ja genau das ist der Song von Sia über dessen Video sich vor kurzem die ganzen verklemmten aufgeregt haben) BLVTH hat daraus einen wunderbar düsteren Remix gebastelt, der einen gespannt macht was in Zukunft noch so alles vom Studenten der Mannheimer Pop Akademie kommt.

Neues Video von BJ The Chicago Kid aus seinem Mixtape „The M.A.F.E. Project". Für "Its True" holt sich der Chicagoer Rapper seinen Kollegen Schoolboy Q mit an Start. One, two, three - go!

Nneka - "Book of Job" [Reggae]

Nneka meldet sich zurück! Die gebürtige Hamburgerin präsentiert uns nach langer Abstinenz die neue Single Book of Job von ihrem kommenden Album My Fairy Tales, dass im Februar bei Soulfood erscheinen soll. Reggae lastiger Track der schon mal Lust auf mehr macht. Das Video zum Song stammt von Wale Davies.

Hawk House - "Chill Pill" (Experiment 2) [Hip Hop]

Und nochmal London. Dieses britische Hip Hop Trio müsste euch schon was sagen wenn ihr meinen Blog ein bisschen länger verfolgt. Jetzt ist vor kurzem ihre EP "A Handshake To The Brain" bei Virgin erschienen und anlässlich dieser ein schickes Video für die Single Chil Pill abgedreht worden. Sehr Smooth!

Jamie T - "Don't You Find" [Alternative Rock]

Mit einer ersten melancholischen Single von seinem kommenden Album hat sich der britische Sänger Jamie T nach einer über 5 jährigen Auszeit eindrucksvoll zurück gemeldet. Einiges hat sich seit seinem letzten Longplayer "The Kings & Queens" verändert: Zum einen hat der ehemals schlaksige Brite jetzt ein bisschen mehr auf den Backen und trägt dazu gegelte Matte a la John Travolta in Grease. Zum anderen hat sich auch sein Sound dem neuen Look angepasst. Er wirkt irgendwie Erwachsener als noch bei "King & Queens" oder "Panic Prevention". Aber auch wenn die jugendlich freche Mischung aus Rap und Indie seinen ersten beiden Alben den Charakter verliehen hat, der ihm zwei Preise bei den NME Awards eingebringen sollte, gefällt mir der neue, ruhigere Stil des Londoners ausgesprochen gut.
