Raven’s been trying to hide it all this time, and the Titans soon find out. But the girls find out first, and they do everything in their power to defend her and, most importantly:

“You don’t have to go.” Even as she says it, Raven is bracing for impact. She knows why Terra’s hand is on the doorknob, even as her hair is tangled from sleep and she groggily shakes off sleep. Terra always shrugs when Raven protests — once, though, she teased that Raven’s old habits died hard.
A contract. No one Raven knew, she hoped. Someone she no doubt was going to know by the end of the night, when the EMTs came in at the end of their shift shaken and seeking guidance. She pretended she didn’t know why every night, too.
“What else have I got?” Terra’s question sagged in her shoulders, her gaze away from the door. For a moment, Raven dared to hope that she’d won — that maybe, tonight, Terra wouldn’t take out her mark and they’d pretend to be normal. Netflix, ice cream, maybe. But normal was never a good look on them.
Instead, Raven pressed her lips to Terra’s. The kiss was ferocious enough to back the smaller girl against the door, and Raven felt her hair being pulled as Terra’s fingerless gloves seized her, moving with the kiss. She didn’t have to say ‘you’ve got this,’ just like Terra didn’t need to say ‘it’s not enough.’
Terra broke off almost reluctantly, tucking her hair behind her ear. “Anyways, thanks for the heal, doc. I’ll see you around.”
‘No,’ Raven thought. ‘I’m not a doctor. Doctors fix people.’

hey! I know reblogging posts about how much you support trans and nonbinary people is fun, especially in a time when we need solidarity more than ever, but idk maybe you should consider:
donating to the transgender law center to help trans people get human rights and legislative protection
signal boosting the TLDEF (aka the transgender legal defense and education fund), a service that fights for trans people’s right to change their names and hold people legally accountable for discrimination
let’s not forget the ACLU (American civil liberties union) which focuses on issues similar to the TLDEF and also provides a confidential form for trans clients
and while you’re at it, why don’t you sign the transgender freedom project’s pledge for solidarity? seeing as they have a tumblr, there’s really no reason you should have any trouble getting involved.
these are all great ways to show your solidarity! but hey, that’s just some food for thought.

“Starfire, I know this looks bad.”
Understatement of the century, but Raven had to keep her tone level for her own sake as much as Starfire’s. Their cell was only a few square feet in size, lined with some way to block their powers from breaking them out with force, and the alien barely had enough room to fully stand up. Neither of them had any idea where the boys were, and could only hope their situation was the worst the team was facing.
Still, there was a way out. All she had to do was find it.
“This idiot wants a show, right?”
“Do you have a plan?”
“I think so.”
It took the guards only thirty seconds to break them up, but Raven’s arm still throbbed from where it had been wrenched behind her back. While Starfire wore her heart on her sleeve in terms of the love she had to offer to those privileged to call her a friend, not many people knew just how deep her anger went, too. And that anger became such strength a god would envy.
Raven figured the Tamaranean would have been similarly frogmarched to a holding cell much like her own; dark, damp, with long strips of light creeping beneath a fragile-looking door that what Raven assumed led to the coliseum. The distinct metallic shing!s of Starfire’s starbolts were dampened from the distance, but she’d recognize them anywhere. Drawing a breath in, Raven played her part, letting her soul-self leave her body and rocket around the holding room.
When the doors opened, Starfire was off like a rocket, streaming towards Raven’s end of the arena at a breakneck speed. Raven managed to return to her body just in time to dive out of the alien’s way, though Starfire was able to turn on a dime. Using the distance between them, the empath seized a large chunk of the ground and launched it at her teammate, wincing when it connected.
Once the adrenalin of a fight had faded slightly, Raven realized the floor came up. The floor that had kept her soul-self from phasing through their cell had given way almost too easily, leaving a chunk of dusty brown earth exposed. That she could deal with, easily. Luck was on her side for once.
Starfire rose from under the panel, chest heaving with effort. If Raven hadn’t been so attuned to her friend’s emotions, she would certainly have believed her show of rage. The empath flew up with magic in her hands just in time to catch a starbolt in the chest that sent her sprawling. Genuinely winded, Raven fell a few feet before Starfire was on her again, hands on her neck and arms straining as she pretended to squeeze.
“Raven?”
“Get us to the ground, I’m okay.”
“This may hurt…”
“It’s fine. Make an impact so we can be hidden by the dust, okay?”
“Okay. Hold on…!”
And what an impact they made when the connected with the ground. Starfire’s hands were still around Raven’s neck as she raised her arms, pulling darkness around them as she struggled to regain her breath. By the time the dust fell and the angry yelling began, the two girls were long gone, and Raven didn’t stop running until they were both safe in the tower, panting on the floor of the ops centre.
They only had time for a meaningful look between them before they went to the computer. There was work still to do to find the rest of their team.

thank you <3 there aren’t really signs of a concussion but my head got knocked forward and i felt my vision go all wonky for a few seconds so i’m definitely taking it easy for the next few days. :*
