Stella Grey was born on October 13, 1995, in the heart of Chicago, Illinois, a screaming bundle of chaos delivered in a rundown hospital during a rather nasty thunderstorm. Perhaps that was a sign for what awaited little Stella. Her mother, Rita, had hooked up with Frankie, her father, a smooth-talking mechanic who could charm the rust off a junkyard car. That fling, sparked in the neon haze of a South Side dive bar, was all passion and poor judgment. It resulted in Rita being left alone with a newborn and a stack of unpaid bills.

Stella grew up fast in their cramped apartment, learning to dodge Rita's wild moods and Frankie's (that's all he is to her) rare, half-assed visits, which came with cheap toys and cheaper apologies. Chicago shaped Stella into a scrappy survivor, her teenage years a blur of skipped classes, petty hustles, and keeping her younger half-siblings (her mom's boyfriends were good for at least one thing) out of trouble. Rita ended up dropping her off at her Aunt Trisha's house with zero intention of picking her back up, taking her siblings along with her. She never has forgiven her for it, doesn't think she ever will.

Originally, Stella came to Ennora because her Trisha wanted to move to a quieter town. She landed a job at Smokey Row; little did she know that she'd end up owning it later on down the road. She couldn't tell you where her family is now that Aunt Trisha has passed away, but she also doesn't care. She's just trying to focus on getting through this shithole we call life, somehow.
