Maxim is actually a Victorian and he still loves books and paper and he 100% thinks that libraries are awesome institutions!!  Plus, I can deF see where, whether for him job or personal reasons, he’s had lots of occasional to dig through the Fate history files archives at the library so...my main point is, I feel like these two probs see lots of each other!!  I also feel like Maxim would be quite fond of Eloise.  He also loves humans lots but she’s also such a genuine and king person and he’s like ‘this is what ppl ~should be like in an ideal world’ and I feel like he admires her quite a lot.  As a result, he’s probs more likely to drop the sass w her than w others.  How do you think she’d react to him?

So like, oh man, I just… I love Blythe and Maxim together???? They’re such trash vampires who know they’re hot shit and everyone should bow to them and I just can’t get enough???

Also like, these kids have been together for OVER A HUNDRED YEARS which is incredible tbh. I know Max has been around for about forty more years than Blythe, but like… idk… I feel like somehow there was an instant connection between the two of them that they’ll just never shake?

I know that Rhiannon is a lOT, so like, maybe that came from Maxim kind of, idk, protecting Blythe from her??? Like I can see Blythe being a brat of a baby vamp, much like Finn is now (Which is also kinda why she loves him so much!!!) and maybe getting on Rhiannon’s nerves a lot, and getting into massive amounts of trouble that Maxim’s charming smiles always got her back out of again???

Also! Esp since y’all know my man Ben Barnes is beautiful AF, I’m also pretty sure that somewhere early in their vamp lives, Blythe had a MAJOR CRUSH ON MAXIM. I don’t know when or even if she acted on it at all, but somehow I think it was sincerely unrequited and she kinda like… nurses that hurt a little even now??? Like, she loves Maxim a bunch, and he’s like family, but I feel like there’s maybe a bit of a distance, a bit of a wall that’s come up between them in the last few years bc of that.

I can also seeing that being a thing where maybe Blythe wasn’t in Fate for a good while! She like, maybe left off in some sort of weird huff that Maxim was a little ???? about, but then ten to twenty years later she shows back up on his doorstep, having kicked in his door like: “What the fuck up, you asshole, I’m back. Where’s the best party at???”

So yea, obviously I have a LOT of feelings about these kids, but please tell me yours!!!

Ughhhh, poor Blythe!!  I love all of this!!

Ok, so first of all, they are 100% a team always and vamp!parents to the max!!!!  Maxim is a lil crusty about it esp bc he never got a choice in the matter, she just brought this kid home one day and was like ‘he almost died and he’s ours now’ and tbh Maxim never questioned that but he is a lil like whY when he’s annoyed hahaha but the truth is that, if their positions had been reversed, he would’ve saved Finn too and honestly he doesn’t regret her actions at all his default is just to push ppl away so that’s all that really is and she absolutely knows this about him by now I’m sure hahaha  And also honestly that impulse of kindness and mercy is one of the things he best likes and admires in Blythe <3333

Hahaha yeah he’s older and honestly I feel like his time one-on-one w Rhiannon was noT a great experience for him esp bc he was trying to cope w being a baby vamp himself at that time and Blythe was the first blush of sanity back in his world again!! and he was able to bond w her by helping her go through the things he just had!! and he’s honestly just so grateful for her!!  Maxim would absoluteLY stand between Blythe and Rhiannon, too!  He’s tough to befriend, but once you do, he’s 100% ride or die hahaha  Also, do you think he knew her at all before her death, btw, or do you think they only met after Rhiannon turned her?

In any case, Maxim was a lot softer, then, than he is, now...at least, on the exterior he’s still tender somewhere buried v, v, deep hahaha  I mean, his hardening had already started (the whole yknow being turned into a vamp really is what kicked that whole bit into overdrive hahaha which, given the age difference, I’m guessing was well before they met? since he was turned c.1872 and she wasn’t born until a couple years later), but the centuries have only made the whole thing worse in terms of how cold he can be at times.  But my point is, he would’ve been his kindest self towards her back then!!  Which...he’s always been sorta wry af etc hahaha but his own struggles both w transitioning into vampirism AND dealing w Rhiannon hahah were so fresh and esp if he’d known her at all, even in passing, while she was still human, I feel like his sympathy would’ve been through the roof!  And he 100% would’ve stepped in to help her bc he’s actually secretly a super caring person hahaha

Hahaha omg he 10000000% is I meannnn we caNNoT blame her for this hahaha and you know that unrequited love is 100% my wheelhouse I will always eat that shit up lakjsdfkljsdf <333333  So yes, I’m 100% down for this!!  Do you think she’s ever expressed to him the way she feels and/or do you think he knows/knew how she feels/felt?  In any case, if she ever did express her feelings to him, he def would’ve been gentle in his rebuff of course bc he cares lots about her, just not in that way!!  And if he knows in any way (whether she’s told him or not hahaha) he totally get why she has to distance herself a bit after that!!  Alternately, if he doesn’t know, obv his behavior hasn’t changed and he’s probs a lil unsure what’s happened, but he’s probs written it off as just ‘she sees that i’m a jackass and she’s moving on to better things bc she deserves that’ (he doesn’t really think much of himself sadly even if he ~acts arrogant a lot????? he’s weird idk what to tell you hahaha)

Mostly, Maxim is just super sardonic and like ‘no,’ and like *gives you a withering glare* like ?????? it’s a miracle he has any friends????  But he’s also highkey ride or die like once you’re in w him you’re in forever and Peter is totally in <33333  Also, I feel like they’re sort of the Legolas/Gimli of BMT bc vampire/werewolf friendships are pr atypical hahaha but also the Nelson & Murdock of Fate bc they’re badass do-gooder lawyers with a terrible secret hahaha <33333
