Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s three-year Diploma will cover the State’s schools of the traditional dance form.
Prominent gurus that made up the Mysore Parampare — named after the erstwhile Mysore State, and which Bhavan’s has contemporised as Karnataka Parampare — include Mysore Jatti Thayamma, Mugoor Amrithappa, Kolar Subbanna, Yajaman Kittappa, and Nanjangud Rajamma, among others. Until recently, Dr. K. Venkatalakshamma carried on Thayamma’s school and Dr. Kaushik carried on Nanjangud Rajamma’s style.
