tinka wasn’t paying any attention to her surroundings as she stood in line at crumble. which, admittedly, was a little bit odd for the blonde as she was usually the first one around to notice minor details about her settings —– appreciating little flowers doodled on the menu board up against the wall or the fairy lights hanging gracefully from the counter. it was just that she’d woken up in a rather awful mood, only getting out of her bedroom as she had some caffeine cravings and her roommates somehow managed to break the coffee machine. she’s had to look at fixing that later that day. so, to her very own surprise, tinka spoke up as she noticed how the girl in front of her had dropped something. bending down to reach out for the little card, tink’s breath hitched in her throat as soon as she lifted her gaze and her green eyes found hers. ‘ oh, ’ she managed to bring out, a bit dumbfounded nonetheless, as she felt like her stomach was about to turn rather painfully whilst her heart somehow still managed to flutter in her chest, ‘ it’s you. uhm, you dropped this. here you go, marie. ’ she wasn’t sure exactly how she managed to sound so aloof whilst a thousand thoughts were raging through her mind. holding out the item in front of her for marie to take, she couldn’t help but silently pray that the line in front of them would just move along already.
she’s tapping away on twitter, replying to a compliment on her latest selfie. she is going home to film her first ever youtube video, and she’s already nervous as it is. she figures macaroons and coffee (decaf, of course!) would help calm her nerves. she pulls out her rewards card in anticipation for her turn in line, but it slips from her fingers. she bends down to get it, but someone behind her beats her to it. she opens her mouth to thank them, but her voice is gone when she realizes who it is. tinka. someone she hasn’t seen in a long time. ‘i...um...thank you.’ she takes the card and straightens her dress. it’s you. what is THAT supposed to mean? SHE hadn’t been the one who had up and ghosted, had she? ‘nice to see you.’ she says curtly.
