Challenge | Day 8 - Apple Cider & Cuddles + âPfft, Iâm not scared.â
Pairing: Bakugou x Koge (OC)
Kogeâs Tag
Rating: Teen (Cursing and alcohol)
Koge gave a small sigh as she looked out of the glass door to the balcony of her apartment, gazing upon the rain as it drowned the city. The sheets of drops were being whipped this way and that by the incredible strength of the wind, which even rattled the glass doors that were her only protection. Out on the balcony, the pumpkins her and her lover had been working on carving were drowning, one of them completely filled up with water, even as it dribbled out of the eyes and mouth that had already been carved.
What a bummer⊠She thought to herself, closing the curtain just as a bright flash of lightning illuminated the darkness, followed by a rumbling of thunder. The weather channel did warn us not to get our hopes up for a dry Halloween. Thereâs no way to travel in this mess. Koge moved away from the doors, reaching her arms up over her head as she gave a groan, stretching her sore muscles from a hard workout the day before. âKatsuki, did you find all the candles?â
âEh? What?â Her lovers annoyed voice called back to her from the bedroom, followed by the sounds of shuffling. Rubbing her left eye as it ached a bit with exhaustion, Koge headed into the bedroom, noticing Bakugou just as he exited the closet with a couple of candles tucked under his arm. He glanced over at her as he shut the door, placing the newly found candles down onto the bed with the rest of the collection. âWhat did you ask me?â Koge made her way over to stand beside him, running one of her hands down his back gently. âI had asked if you found the candles.â
Bakugou gave a small scoff, checking the drawers of the bedside table to see if there were any more hidden inside. âYou know, I usually hate your candle obsession, much like your lotion one, but I guess they do come in handy sometimes.â With a small roll of her eyes, Koge picked up as many candles as she could carry, heading back into the living room. âWhatever, you like my candles. Youâve even light some yourself when Iâm not here!â She began to placed them around the apartment, five in the living room and three in the kitchen.
The news had warned of possible power outages with such a serious storm, and so Bakugou had set out to find at least some candles to light around the apartment, should that happen. As Koge placed them, she smiled, reading the scents. âDid you really pick all matching scents? These are all Fall themed.â Bakugou came into the living room, mildly annoyed scowl on his face as he judged the placement of the candles. âUh, yes? If we have to light them, I donât want there to be mixed shit smell of âSummer Rainâ and âCookie Doughâ.â Koge couldnât help but to giggle, placing the last candle on the small table beside the couch.
âI know Katsuki, you hate candles. They arenât all that bad, though.â She walked back up to him, noticing that his frustrated scowl hadnât let up. âHey, are you alright?â Placing a hand on his cheek, she stroked his skin gently, prompting him to sigh and reach up to ruffle his own hair in agitation. âIâm just pissed off. We did all this planning and preparation for that damn party tonight, just for bullshit rain to ruin it. We did a lot of baking and cooking, and even made that fancy apple cider shit.â
Koge gave a small nod, letting her hands rest on his chest. âIâm pretty bummed about it, too. Not because all our prep was for nothing, but because I really wanted to go. We had our outfits ready and everything.â She let her arms latch around his torso, resting her head onto his chest. A smile crossed her lips as he returned the favor, his arms resting around her tightly. âItâs okay, though, Katsuki. We could always just have our own party.â
Bakugou hummed quietly in thought, though Koge only heard it as a low rumble in his chest. âHow? By eating everything?â Koge nodded, looking up at him as a sly smile crossed her face. âYes. We can make ourselves sick on the sweets we made, and as for the apple cider-â She pulled herself from him, making her way into the kitchen. Opening up one of the cabinets, she displayed to him her prize as she removed it from the shelf. âWe have rum! It will be delicious in it!â
Taking the bottle from her, Bakugou looked it over as he thought. âSo you want to get wasted and stuff ourselves with sweets? Do you know how sick weâll be in the morning?â Koge nodded, walking over towards the refrigerator to pull out the apple cider they had already made. âYep! But itâs fine, weâre both off tomorrow, and we expected to get drunk at the party anyways. This way weâre home and weâre safe and we can do whatever!â She pulled out the container that held the cider, glancing up at the lights as they flickered with a sudden roll of thunder.
âWell Utsuro, you had better get that shit warm, or weâll be drinking just straight rum.â
âNo, no, no, Katsuki, that is not-â Koge stopped in the middle of her sentence to stifle a laugh, waving her cookie at him in defiance. â-That is not what happened! You- you literally slapped me in the face when you were eleven, and I was twelve. You did!â Bakugou shook his head, taking a swig from his apple cider and rum drink before he responded. âNo, I didnât fucking slap you, I just put my hand on your face and pushed you over. Thatâs not the same.â Koge groaned, leaning back against the couch. âI think you just forgot which time Iâm talking about. You have to remember.â
Bakugou shook his head, glaring at her from across the coffee table. âYouâre making things up! I only pushed your face away, I didnât slap you! I mean, fucking yes I remember, you kissed me on the cheek and I flipped out, but I didnât slap you.â Koge finished off her cookie, taking a large swig of her own drink before she responded. âYou did. Youâre just trying to soften it up so it doesnât sound so mean.â
The two had taken advantage of the lonely night, sitting on the floor of the living room around the coffee table, drinks and food scattered about. By now, both of them were pretty well buzzed, enjoying the alcohol and hot apple cider mixture. It was a bit odd, Koge had to admit, to drink such a thing during an occasion such as this. But that didnât truly matter, they were enjoying themselves chattering about whatever topic happened to come up. The storm outside was still raging, the occasional lightning flooding the apartment with more light. So far, the electricity had yet to go out, so they were still warm and comfortable.
âWhy the fuck would I try to soften it up? If I slapped you, I would admit it, but I didnât!â Bakugou tossed a fake plastic spider at her, one that came out of their fancy cupcakes. Koge giggled as it smacked her on the cheek, bringing her hand up to wipe the icing it left on her skin. âOkay, okay, fine! I do remember for sure how cute you were! You were so embarrassed. Come here, come here and sit next to me.â She patted the floor beside her, watching him as he scooted his way around the coffee table to be beside her, holding a cupcake in his mouth.
âHere, letâs reenact it, okay?â Koge turned to face him a bit, bouncing in her spot as she waited for him to finish chewing his cupcake, setting the rest back down on the table. âTch, maybe it will jog your shitty memory, Ustuso.â He wiped his mouth clean with his thumb, narrowing his eyes down at her. âWell, hurry up!â
Koge smiled, moving to sit on her knees. âThis is what I remember doing.â She used one hand to grip his opposite cheek, pulling his face into hers as she placed a rough, playful kiss on his cheek. Bakugou brought his hand up and put it over her face, pushing her back away from him. âYeah, and then I pushed you away! I didnât slap you, oh shit-!â Both of them busted out laughing as Koge lost her balance from his push, falling backwards onto the floor with a squeal. Her mind and body dizzy from the alcohol, she could only lay there and giggle, letting her legs lay out across his lap.
âHoly shit, I think youâre drunk, Utsuro.â Bakugou let his hands rest on her legs, the heat of his palms against the chill of the room making Koge shiver. âMmm, maybe only a little bit. But so are you, your cheeks are pink.â He only grunted in response as he went back to eating his cupcake, giving her thigh a squeeze. Pout crossing her lips at being ignored, she sat up, straddling his lap while facing him. âDonât ignore me for a cupcake. Gimme a bite.â Bakugou narrowed his eyes at her, holding what was left of his treat away from her to protect it. âNo, fuck off, this is my cupcake, get your own! There are like six behind you on the table!â
Koge kept her pout as she let her arms rest around his neck. âAre you saying you love that cupcake more than me?â Bakugou snickered, smirk stretching across his lips as he popped the last of the cupcake into his mouth. âYes. Sometimes I prefer a little sweet over salty, you know?â Koge gasped at the betrayal, bringing her hands up to cup his cheeks. âHow dare you-â
Before she could finish, a loud crash of thunder shook the building, lightning flashing through the room along with the pop and whirring of the electricity going out. Having been completely caught off guard, Koge had snatched onto Bakugou tightly, hiding her face in his chest. He had put his arms back around her out of reflex, but now that the room settled back into a suffocating silence, he couldnât help but to chuckle.
âUtsuro, are you scared?â He rubbed her back gently before holding onto her, standing and placing her down on the couch. Koge huffed as she reluctantly released him, trying to see him in the pitch black. âPfft, Iâm not scared! That just surprised me is all.â Bakugou stroked her hair gently before he left her, cursing as he slammed his shin into the table before he got around it. âWhat did we do with the damn lighter?!â Koge stood, patting the pockets of her shorts. âI donât have it.â
âOh, I do.â Bakugou said with a dull voice as he pulled the lighter from his pocket, making Koge giggle. âPremature anger.â As the first three candles were lit, Koge found the second lighter sitting on the table, helping him in lighting up the few in the kitchen as he went to the bedroom and restroom. They both soon returned to the living room, where Koge pulled back the curtain to the glass doors, giving a small gasp as she looked down at the city. âHoly crap, itâs completely black!â Bakugou stood behind her, his hands resting on her shoulders as he leaned his chin on the top of her head. âDamn.â
Koge leaned back against him, reaching up to hold onto his arms as he let them rest around her shoulders. âThatâs really creepy. I wonder how long it will be out for.â She felt heat rush to her cheeks as he leaned down, kissing her cheek a few times before he let his head rest against hers. âWho caresâŠâ Smiling, Koge stroked his hair gently, loving how much of a cuddle bug he became when he drank. It was much like when he was exhausted, where he just wanted to snatch onto her and fall asleep.
Before he could fall asleep standing up, Koge gently urged him back towards the couch. âCome on. Letâs lay down for a little bit.â Bakugou yawned loudly as he followed her, rubbing the back of his head. âYeah, okay. My stomach feels like shit.â He flopped to lay down on the couch, holding his arm open for her to join him. Koge was quick to do so, grabbing the fleece blanket off the back of the couch and putting it over them the best she could in her dizzy state. âFinally, cuddle time.â
Bakugou scoffed, hiding his face into her hair. âYou could of had it way sooner, but you wanted to drink.â Koge nuzzled her face into the soft fabric of his shirt, sighing as she grew comfortable. âI wasnât the only one who wanted to drink, so did you. But, I think we got through all that apple cider and the whole bottle of rum. Thatâs an achievement.â
âI enjoy this more than some stupid fucking party with a lot of people, anywayâŠâ
âMe too, Katsuki. The joys of being introverts.â
âYouâre never truly upset if you have to stay inside or plans get cancelled. As long as I have you and cuddles, Iâd be happy never going outside again.â
