The Spectacular Spider-Woman

Gwen had been waiting at the reception desk, dressed in normal clothes for working out. When she saw Jasmine, she gave her a little two finger salute. “Yo there. Glad you can come. You look excited. Good! You are gonna need that. Today we are gonna figure out what you have and see where we can improve. Think of it as a physical education test, alright? Just do your best.”

Gwen pulled out a card to scan and get them in the complex. She led Jasmine to a room with several machines that looked like they were meant to test one’s strength, speed, agility, and endurance. Gwen went over to a handle attached to a chain. “First test, strength. I will steadily increase the pull on this chain and we’ll find out how much force you can exert.”

Gwen smirked when she heard that. She had been the one who answered the call. She had given Jasmine her cell number. She was a good kid. A bit withdrawn, but they could work on that. She had oodles of potential that she shouldn’t have to waste. She could be a fantastic hero. Jasmine just needed someone to given her a shot.

“Good to hear that kid! Alright, I believe you should be off school Sunday, right? There is a place where pro heroes do physical training. Basically our own gym. I can get us set up with a room. First thing we need to know is your limits. Find out where you are and then we can work your way up. Eight in the morning. I’ll send you address info. I’d suggest you rest as well as possible. You are gonna be sore by the end.”

With that, Gwen said her goodbye and sent the info to get to the place. Then she made another call to get their day set up and figure out how to test Jasmine’s abilities...

"Hey kid!" The heroine approached the kid, her costume on without the mask. "My name is Gwen. I saw you at the last Sports Festival. You did some good work." (@bnhaspoodergwen)

Jasmine picked her head up as she slowly removed her earbuds from her ears, tilting her head to the side trying to see if she could recognize this person. Didn’t take long when she noticed the costume, making her heart race as her eyes widen with shock. “Oh… t..Thank you!” Jasmine exclaimed as she ran her hand through her hair as a soft blush appeared on her face. “I honestly didn’t think I could do something like that….”

“No sweat kid. I always got my phone on. My agency isn’t too far. So take your time and contact me if you decide to go through it.” She lifted her hand up to shoot out web. As she yanked herself up, she called out. “Take care kid! Think hard on it!”

Gwen smirked and put her mask on. “Tell you what kid. I’ll put a little recommendation in for you. Whether you make the switch is your choice. But if you do decide to go for it...” Gwen reached in her suit and pulled out a card, offering it to Jasmine. “Give me a call and we can set up some time to get you ship shape. I warn you, it will be a lot of hard work. Getting into shape for the hero classes is fully possible and I’ll make sure you are as ready as anyone in there.”

“Nah, you got more than you think. In fact, I’d say you have a quirk quite like my own. You just need someone who understands how it works to show you the ropes. The fact that you were in General classes... well that seems a waste. You could be a great hero with your abilities. Heck, I’d love to help you if you are interested.”

“Grading is taking too much time. I need a break. You wanna go get some coffee Gwen?” Tokage asked with a warm smile as she moved her hair away from her eyes. [heroicfaiths]

“Done and done.” She smiled with tired eyes. “I’ve been doing stakeouts. Rumors of drug deals. I’m happy I don’t get stiff easy, but the late hours are murder. Wanna get a bear claw or something with it?”

“Believe it or not, there are dinosaurs still around us today. Look outside and find the first bird that you can find. Look at it and enjoy the view, for after that revelation, you can proudly go and tell someone that you saw a real living and breathing dinosaur.”

“...Okay you need a new hobby.” She put down her latte with a sigh. “I get it. You like dinosaurs. But like... is it everything? Really? You haven’t even touched your drink since we left Starbucks. Enjoy your day off.”

She casually shot a splat of web against a nearby wall. “I can really dress how I like with no issue mostly. Just need an out for the webbing. Costume has an opening near where I shoot it.”

“Gwen Stacy, same.” She gave his hand a shake. “Yeah, some of those old heroes keep going on like I should show my face more often. But the mask is cool. Why mess with a good thing, right?”

“Yeah I don’t gotta worry cause my method of air travel is biological. I’d suggest talking to the hero coordinator in your area. But really thanks. I spend time with them every week, play checkers and stuff. They keep giving me candy and cookies. Neighborhood kids love them. Everyone wins.”
