I think I must have packed and unpacked my bags like six times but I stayed because I’m stronger than that... We’re stronger than we think we are. It is with great pleasure that I say that I have been reinstated as Westmore Academy’s Dean. 

However, there will be some changes. Those of you who staged this silent, peaceful protest I would like to thank you for participating and showing the Headmistresses that Westmore is not here to conform to societal ideals and never will. Because of your constant thrive to show the Board that bringing in the Headmistresses was a terrible idea and that Westmore did not cause the riots at the sub rights rally a few months ago - The Board has decided to remove the Headmistresses and send them elsewhere. However, due to their “failure” of bringing the academy to their terms, the Board has decided to remove all funding from Westmore. 

This means we will be scrambling for a while when it comes to funding, we’ll need investors and fundraising to keep us afloat. I, myself, will be donating as much as I can to help push us through these final months of the school year and then we’re to decide how to proceed for the summer. This lack of funding until we’re able to get back on our feet means that we will be cutting back on sports programs and certain clubs that require more than we’re able to handle. I’ll be talking with the faculty to determine what to cut. Unfortunately, this is just how things will have to go for now. 

The good news of all of this is that Westmore will now be completely privately funded and an independent school, meaning we do not have to conform to the dominant educational board’s standards. Where this leads us I cannot say exactly, but as I talk to other independently owned liberal based academies to see where this leaves us.

Since there has been a couple of posts about the rally, I want to express my full support to the cause and I really hope this works so we can get the Westmore we all liked more, and I want to say that, while I’m not the best at artistic ways of manifestations, I’m open to write messages in big letter in huge posters, sing or anything, and I will be attending to this rally and actively participating.

However, I’d like to do something more to the cause. I’d like to bring all the food I can to this so we have energy for this so, if nobody is opposed to this, I’ll try to come up with something to cook and have some people to help me with that, I could even buy some snacks. It’s not a big gesture, but I want to do something, and since Anna, Miss Rouhani and Jimi have everything else covered, I’d love to help.

As I said before, I could sing something as well, so let me know if you guys need something, whether it’s food or something else.
