David raised an eyebrow as he looked at Moira, wondering what it was she was going to say. If he could manage to quiet the voices inside his mind, he probably could listen in to her thoughts but that was easier said than done most of the time and well if she didn’t want to say it then it was probably better he didn’t know what it was. The corners of his lips turn up into a slightly forced smile. She isn’t running out of the room, so at least she’s not that scared of him.

He helped pull Moira off the ground when she placed her hand in his before gently pulling his hand away and resting it back at his side when she was finally standing again. David felt himself relax when he noticed the smile on her lips. “That’s-…You can do that?” he asked. He was always so focused on what was going on in his own mind and figuring his own abilities out that he had never really asked Moira about hers. “How?”

Moira bounced on the balls of her feet, grin growing wider with each passing second. Grabbing his hands, she placed them around her waist and squeezed. “Do you feel it? I came up with the idea all on my own!” She’d always had some form of protection around her waist but normally it just involved fusing her rib bones together - she’d never been able to strengthen them. Even when she had been on the streets, her energy levels had been so low it was a miracle she’d survived shifting her bones even once. “They’re my ribs! I mean, I’ve fused them before so that’s nothing new, but this time I was able to build them up until they were like this.”
