💃 NEW ART SUPPLIES 💃 . Finally, after a long, long time, some art supplies I ordered month ago arrived yesterday. They made quite the journey: From New Zealand and Switzerland they traveled to my mom’s place in Germany, from there to Spain and finally, a colleague of mine brought them to Buenos Aires . So obviously I had to try them out asap: The Nightfall Set from @stakiwicolours (who are living now in a cute unicorn tin I had at home) and the beautiful Fibonacci brushes from @schimoni_art and - I AM IN LOVE 😍!! . 🌠 ON DREAMY WINGS 🌠 . My owl didn’t turn out to be a happy owl like Tamara’s (@willowing), who’s lesson I took as inspiration for this painting, but it’s taking flight, following my word / motto for the year . It also turned out nothing like I imagined and it took me a bit to figure out a way to turn it into a piece I liked. The middle phase was quite a mess, but I guess that’s a good way to learn . 👑 GODDESS 👑 . Over the last couple days I worked on this painting and it was such a joy bringing this lady into being, following Tamara’s Life Book lesson . Sticking mostly to the same color palette she makes a great companion to the first piece from the Warm Up session and I think, they will keep me motivated throughout a hopefully very creative year . 🌟 BE PRESENT AND SHINE 🌟 . I made this piece after a little Yoga session with Sarah Trumpp that is also part of the Life Book course . Art, well-being and self-care - such a great combination for me. I really enjoy it!! . I’m also giving some old watercolor practice pieces a new purpose by using them as background for new mixed media paintings. 💠 GET AIRBORNE 💠 . I have chosen my Word of the Year while working through the first lesson of Life Book 2021 with Tamara Laporte (@willowing) . It was magical how this developed and came together almost on its own. I feel I have progressed quite a bit if I compare this piece to a similar one I made in October and I’m sure a lot will happen this year in regards to my art and creative expression - can’t wait to see where this journey takes me!! . I feel ready to learn more about me and my art and I feel this tugging inside to make this journey not just for me, but to discover how I can motivate and serve other people to embarque in a creative journey of their own, to share how art brings me so much closer to myself and so much joy, too . ✨ THE NEW YEAR IS… ✨ . YOUR CANVAS TO PLAY WITH!! . First painting this year and it’s filled with so much stuff very close to my heart. It contains all the frustration over our vacation desaster and many doubts but also hope that this new year can be better . Not sure if I’m ready for the bold decisions but okay, we’ll see about that . Also, inspiration for the eyes surely comes from @iris.impressions.art. I don’t know if we want to express the same thing with these different eyes but they seemed so fitting. I was thinking about the dreams and wishes I have for the future but also that I have to keep my eyes open for opportunities that present themselves. 🏫 WHAT LITTLE I SAW IN CARHUÉ 🏫 . Well, we’re still here waiting for our car to be repaired. With much luck, we will get it tomorrow morning and be able to drive back home for New Year’s Eve. With a little less luck, we’ll have it in the afternoon and drive back home on January 1st. Otherwise, I will go back with the kids by bus and my husband will have to wait for the car 😕 . In any case, we spent some less than optimal vacation time to put a nice little bow on this weird year 2020 . Despite all that and in order to relax at least a little bit, today I painted a summary of a few things that we were able to see here apart from our apartment and the pool: some beautiful skyscapes, an approaching storm, impressive palm trees, a full moon and the main square with the government building designed by the architect Francisco Salamone . 💮 VINTAGE VACATION 💮 . Here’s another vacation sketch, from life this time. This place is really nice which is fortunate because our car broke down on Sunday and is now being repaired. So we can’t really move a big deal and explore the place like we had planned . This would be totally okay for me, to just relax and wait it out, but the kids are getting restless and my husband is angry and that makes the whole experience pretty unpleasant overall . At least I have nice plants to sketch and we are getting the best out of the hotel pool . Hope your holidays are going better than mine, if you have free time between Christmas and New Years!! . The Making of "Calm"
Process video of me painting the "calm" page in my selfmade toilet paper roll journal . The process itself was quite relaxing, too, especially painting with my fingers had a soothing effect on me. Unfortunately a neighbor was trimming their garden hedge with a pretty noisy tool, so the whole experience was a bit less calming than it could have been, lol. You won't hear that in the video though, no worries. The good thing about editing is that you can just turn the volume of and put some nice music on top and voila!! . I hope you enjoy my little video!! I would love to hear what you think...
🎨 VACATION ART 🎨 . Being on vacation among other things, is having a limited amount of art supplies available - I took some watercolors, brushes, pens and pencils and a sketchbook with me . Here’s my vacation creation from this morning. I took a reference picture for this sketch a good year ago when I visited my sister in Germany and finally painted my version of it . 🐺 ANIMAL WISDOM 🐦 . Today I want to show you two more paintings I recently created from different Life Book 2021 Taster Sessions . They may be totally different in terms of color, style and supplies, but both are meant to reflect and create intentionally, to receive messages from or through these animals, that are associated with wisdom .
