In hindsight, I think it also underwhelms and removes hype from Precursors.

Arknights spent over five years building them up as a mysterious ancient alien species and scientists. They used their minds to explore the universe, they created gates to the stars, they built artificial moons, and meddled in things they shouldn't.

Endfield's handling of them in 1.4 feels...juvenile? Complete with the generic stone golem enemy boss with edgy music.

This is the famed precursor technology? This is the civilization that would warp space and time with their inventions? This is the kind of aesthetic we can hope for? This is a deeply colonialist, uncaring empire that bent the stars to their will before meeting something far worse than themselves?

A fantasy-aesthetic boss straight out of something like Genshin Impact? Defeated by a bunch of deeply unserious children and their cult leader?

Really, HG, Really? Are you even trying?
