@jhjsummers and @_specimens_ of @firstterracerecords have put together this a very wonderful compilation once again, which is now available for pre-order. They have put a lot of love into this as a physical object, as well as a sonic experience. The full album was played on r a couple nights ago, it was a beautiful journey. COVIDNOTES (Trailer release) by Finnegan Travers and Alf Brooks (2020) This is a trailer to announce the release of a four part series of audio-visual collages. The material revolves around a collection of voice notes and phone calls that Finn Travers received over a four month period in 2020. I made them into sound collages and wrote a lot of music to accompany it too. We made this over the past year, coming back to it every now and then as a way for myself and Finn to keep in touch and stay sane through insanity. It’s turned into this small series. Tuesday, 08 June 2021 / 8PM (9PM Berlin time) the illustrious @jhjsummers asked me to guest slot on his @firstterracerecords radio show on @resonanceextra . I humbly accepted this offer, and have taken it as an opportunity to showcase the various sound works and musical pieces that I am associated with. The mix is made up of many tape loops (which are actually forthcoming as an album by baffledface95), musical pieces and youtube snippets. The main showcase in the mix is the section labelled ‘covidnotes’. What you will hear is two excerpts from a larger body of work that I have made in collaboration with @finnegan_travers . I have a tune coming out on this compilation organized by Avon Terror Corps in Aid of the Palestinian Medical Releif Sociotey. ATC did a collaboration with @existfestival.ps to make a sick Tshirt that is avaiable to order with the collection of tracks aswell. I was lucky enough to join long time friend and collaborator Clíona Ní Laoi on two residencies. We made a lot of music, sounds, photos and videos, in an attempt to capture and process as much of the surrounding environments as possible. All the work was the begging of a much longer Journey for Clíona, who will be using the material going forwards to develop more concrete manifestations of these ideas.

70 years ago Kitty Gallagher was recorded by Alan Lomax during his journey through Ireland. The recordings of her voice will come to influence musicians such as Clannad and Altan. The two hour special will map out her music, stories, the Irish language and music from her contemporaries. As a celebration of the singing session tradition, four musicians have been invited to do new interpretations of Kitty Gallagher's songs for the show.

Not long ago, we (all times now nothing aka me and @mama.matrix_ ) took part in Avon Terror Corps latest compilation. The track we gave them is called möchte, which means casual daytime Telly desire. We made the track together in Bristol, 2019. The compilation is already sold out, which is great because all of that money goes to Bristol based charity Base and Roses, providing free food to those in need. So no tapes left, but you’re able to stream and download the digital files on good old bandcamp. This work was composed for Dylan Kerr's funeral in June 2020. Dylan is dead and what's left of them now takes the form of Baptist Goth. A fusion of an emo trap idol and a Catholic saint, born out of a time of darkness in Poznan, Poland. (tw:suicide) Dylan came close to taking their own life, but Baptist Goth saved whatever parts of Dylan were still living and became a new entity. Polish hate speech laws protect religious statues, but not living, queer people. Baptist Goth is the creation of a queer sainthood in Catholic Poland, imagining a world in which our religious idols are queer idols, and we prayed to queer saints.
All proceeds will be donated and split between two Polish charities 1. Fundusz Dla Odmiany, whose goal is to make LGBT + people feel at home in every community in Poland. The money will be used to fund workshops, educational programmes, support networks etc. Providing support to queer people in local communities across the country dlaodmiany.org.pl 2. 2020. I decided to release some tracks that had been gathering dust on my hard drives. They felt pretty loose, but somehow they come together when you hear them as a whole. All in all they’re quite a random selection, but the guitar is surprisingly quite a consistent theme!

2020. All Times Now Nothing found its place on Where The Time Goes! Thanks to Dean McGrath, who released our debut album on 12″. This collage is a mishmash of music and sounds and words that are the result of multiple art benders Cliona and I have had since we’ve known each other.

2019. I was fortunate enough to collaborate with brother-sister duo ‘Aperture’, in turning their studio album into a live performance. We got together in Emanuele’s studio and came up with some things which we then were able to perform in Berlin in Italy. (to be heard and seen in the links!)

2019. A good person called Jari was kind enough to let me borrow his Revox A77. It’s a very inspiring machine to use. At the time I was watching a lot of Hianbach videos, and imagining various tape loop ideas. Also at this time, I knew an Opera singer called Carla. She was up for trying an idea out to do an Operatic performance with my accompaniment on the Revox machine, using loops and a guitar.
Carla usually sings from score, so through our rehearsals, we managed to make a made up score which used fragments of already existing ones. A cut-and-paste opera!
There’s a link to a kind of shortened down compilation of the performance, which took place in Berlin that August.
