Rocky is a cutthroat bitch, statement.
Bathroom with glass floor, overlooking a 15 story elevator shaft.
In case you needed help shitting yourself.
i keep seeing people make broad, sweeping statements about project hail mary- specifically about Eva Stratt and it just. I need to be so so so so so clear that they softened her considerably for the movie. Book Eva is not… gentle. She doesn’t give a speech about how she isn’t betraying Ryland, she’s believing in him- she tells him he has no family, no pets, and she was always planning to send him to space against his will if she had to.
And the movie doesn’t touch on it, but there WAS a fourth option. There was another volunteer for the scientist position who was coma resistant and could have been being trained the entire time. Grace did not HAVE to be the tertiary scientist. She made the choice to NOT train that scientist and instead send Grace against his will.
And yes, he’s the main character and without that choice we wouldn’t have a book and blah blah blah but i’m not talking about why Andy Weir chose to send Grace, i’m talking about Eva Stratt. And Eva Stratt did not do it because she believed in him. She did it because she believed it was best and did not consider Grace or his autonomy at any point.
And in the book, he isn’t knocked out immediately. He sits in a cell, knowing he’s going to die and unable to doc anything about it because he knows at the end of the day, when Eva Stratt has decided something, it will happen. THEN he’s drugged and knocked unconscious and forcibly boarded on the ship.
This is not hate for Eva btw, that’s my girl, she was in an impossible position and did what she thought she needed to in order to save the human race. I deeply empathize with her and how difficult all of it must have been for her to live with.
But that doesn’t mean she didn’t do a shitty fucking thing. She did. And we don’t need to soften her up to make it more palatable.
locking your brother away in the eternal torment nexus but getting worried he'll get lonely is some kind of sibling dynamic for sure one of the most of all time maybe even
One of my favorite Avatar: The Last Airbender episodes is “The Blue Spirit,” and it’s because of the final moments. It begins with that quiet exchange between Aang and Zuko after Aang discovers the Blue Spirit but still chooses to save him. Aang tells Zuko about his old friend Kuzon, from a time when the divisions between the nations didn’t exist. It’s essentially Aang offering an olive branch, asking if they could have been friends. Zuko doesn’t respond with words, but with firebending, and Aang retreats.
We then cut to Zuko lying in bed while the Fire Nation flag looms over him.
The flag feels imposing, almost inescapable. This is the force shaping him. His anger, his sense of duty, and his inability to accept Aang’s offer all trace back to this.
What makes the moment land is the contrast. We move from a quiet, human interaction to a stark image of ideology and power. It’s the show reminding us that Zuko’s struggle isn’t just internal — it’s inherited. He’s not just fighting Aang; he’s carrying the weight of a nation’s expectations.
It becomes a visual reminder that even in moments of vulnerability, the world these characters come from is always pressing in on them.
Activated them like sleeper agents
Not lovers or friends but a secret third thing (they play Catan together and Stratt pretends she's not preparing Grace for a one way trip to space)
omnidirectional
i couldnt decide between these two similar ideas i had so you get both LOLLLLLL
Suing the difference in their atmosphere. Unfair. Friends should be able to touch each other. Should be illegal to prevent that from happening.
Lemme touch your face - Part 1/3

Dick: We need to find a way to establish communication with the ghost or we're in for a fight I doubt we can win. Any ideas?
Garth: We already ruled out most of land languages. I could try Atlantean? Or four of the Seven Sea Comman?
Dick: Go for it it.
Garth: *Turns to flouting figure and speaking in clacking tounge sounds*
Dick: Well?
Garth: No reaction. I don't think he understands.
Dick: Drat. Anyone else?
Kori: I have tried using the few languages I know, and I also failed. However, if I can get close enough I could use my people's lip to lip contact to learn his language instantly.
Dick: I doubt that he will let you get that close but we can try- what are you two doing?
Roy: Setting up the ultimate form of communication
Wally: Interpretive dance! Hit it!
Dick: No-
Wally/Roy:
Danny floating down, teary eye: No one has ever said such poetry about my mother.
Dick: you spoke English this whole time!?
Danny: No, I learned it just so I could thank these two for the touching way they spoke of my mother.
Wally: And you said we couldn't dance.
Roy: Showed you, didn't we? High five Kid!
Dick: ....maybe I should go back to Batman.
Bruce: I try to be supportive but Tim's hobbies are.....questionable
Clark: What do you mean?
Bruce: As you know, Tim has always had an... appreciation for heroes. Especially young heros like Robin and Phantom.
Clark: Yes, he's a big fan even when he was Robin.
Bruce: Exactly. And, as you know, some fans are in what they call "fandom". Tim is active in this community. He is a fanfiction writer.
Clark: a writer? That's not bad as I thought it was going to be when you called me over.
Bruce: Look at the laptop on the table. That's Tim's most popular fanfiction.
Clark:
Bruce crying: How can I support this?
Clark: Bruce, burn this laptop and bury the ashes on the moon.
i love ur alfred headcannons the recent one gave me an idea i thought about putting out there
bruce and clark discussing the truama of their parents both dating alfred and danny joins them to complain about him sleeping with clockwork
Bruce: Stop seducing my friends' parents!
Alfred:
Three days later:
Barbara: DAD!?
James: Sweetheart! Its not what it looks like!
Alfred: Its exactly what it looks like.
Danny: Alfred do you have a minute to talk privately?
Alfred: Certainly, Master Danny. How can I be of service?
Danny: Okay *Deep breath* You know how Bruce is known as a playboy airhead and I'm his whimpy, scared-of-everything younger brother to the public?
Alfred: Yes, your personas to misdirect the public are quite entertaining to watch.
Danny: Well, I realize a flaw in my persona.
Alfred: Oh?
Danny: I'm supposed to be scared of my own shadow, so how am I supposed to flirt with someone when I'm acting like being outside the manor is the equivalent of stepping outside a sanctuary during a zombie apocalypse?
Alfred: Hmm? Can you clarify?
Danny: It's just-! There was this really attractive guy at the Gala, and I was acting like the usual Whimp Wayne, so every time he stepped closer, I had to scramble away. How am I supposed to meet someone like that?
Alfred: This may come as a shock to you... But no one is making you put on an act like that. You could simply act like the intelligent, charming man I know you are. Danny: That doesn't make any sense. Alfred: Where am I losing you? Danny: I established a person that the media knows and recognizes. How can I just be someone else? Alfred: ....You what, just ask Master Bruce to pick your outfit at the next gala. He'll have you in a vest corset or something. That'll get you a man. You can just manipulate him into a corner where you can drop the line "no one has ever made me feel this comfortable before," or something. Danny: Oh! Great idea! Thanks, Alfred! Alfred, turning to Martha's and Thomas' portrait: You made some stupid ass kids.
