Lunch made infinitely better with some iced coffee
My second featured bookstore in this little series is the “Housing Works Bookstore” (126 Crosby Street, New York) in SoHo.
Criteria
Range of Books: They are a secondhand-bookstore, so they only have on offer what people have donated to them. Tht might mean you do not find the latest bestseller or the first installment in a series, when you look for it. But it means that they’re big on bargain books (check out the carts with books for 1$ or 0.50$ in the first picture!) and also great for randomly finding that one book you always wanted to read but then forgot about.
The Store: Its curved wooden staircases are iconic as is the whole store. It’s even appeared in an episode of ‘Elementary’! Their staff are volunteers and all their profits go to charity and help people with HIV/ Aids. Apart from this great cause, they also have a bookstore cafe. Unfortunately I thought they always overdo the airconditioning a little bit, and I’m just not that inclined to stay in a bookstore for ages when I have to remember to bring an extra sweater.
Location/ Reachability: It seemed rather tucked away in a narrow alley to me, but it is nicely reachable via Broadway-Lafayette St station as well as via Prince St station.
My overall-super-subjective-rating-based-on-my-own-criteria: ★★★★✩ (My favourite so far! I’m just still waiting for a bookstore that feels actually homey and cozy, too)

Here are the poetry collections — from newcomers and veterans alike — that we absolutely loved in 2015. (Ranked in no particular order.)
Marcy here! I’m looking for something to offset my thesis reading. Has anyone read any of these/does anyone have other recommendations?
Good morning! Happy Thursday!!
Reading Material by Tristan Martin Via Flickr: Reading Material Dull weather again with flat light outside, so we've been playing around with some tabletop photography again using what natural light there is coming through a window. Reading material, a good book, a mug of coffee and some biscuits. Oh, and a camera!
