Well, this place was rather DEARY. The Narrator stood in the middle of a path, glancing around at the people passing by with an unamused look gracing his features. He had a strong distaste for the cold for a being who could not suffer from any cold-borne illnesses or afflictions. There were folks walking past him as if he were not there, and to them he very might as well not have been. They were not his target as the Storybook made rather apparent. He looked at the clothing they all donned to hide away from the clothes with a gentle loft of his brow.
In a gentle green GLOW of light, his clothing changed in the similar fashion of those... commonfolk he walked beside. Was that animal pelt? His brow furrowed suddenly as he brushed his hands across the black fur on his shoulders. It was soft enough, but he wasn’t about to question what barbaric things were done in this place --- until he pulled the Storybook from his satchel and pulled on the ribbon threaded through the pages. A gentle hum rose in his throat and he took a step before disappearing into thin air again.
When he appeared again, he was in what appeared to be a tavern? An inn perhaps? Whatever it may be, it smelled of cheap wine and ale. He smirked, knowing all too well what company he was in now. He ran a calloused finger across the page as he read the words before him. The paper vibrated and hummed beneath his touch and made him pull a face. “Oh, I am looking.” He murmured to it though it kept vibrating in his hands, “One of these times, I would love for me to simply throw you on the group and you may find these people yourself.” He huffed as he glanced up to look around.
The Narrator took another step and disappeared only to be sitting upon an empty table with his leg idly dangling off the edge as if he were bored. He heard a voice that stood out above the rest, ringing more clearly. He smiled, “Is that him then? Handsome lad, isn’t he?” He gently replaced the ribbon in the Storybook and closed it shut to tuck it under his arm as he stood from the table and approached the man all while standing beside him quietly. There was a certain ENTERTAINED look on his face as he observed him with a slight smile at the corner of his lips.
